Cortana doesn't understand any voice commands?

If you go into the settings section and disable Cortana the console will switch back to the legacy Xbox voice commands.

If, for whatever reason, Cortana isn’t what you want, you have the option to go back to the original voice control model using the "Xbox" command. When you switch, here’s what you’ll lose:

Headset voice control

Expanded commands and voice recognition

Voice-to-text input (dictation)

You can bring back Cortana at any time.

To revert to the original voice control model:

Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Settings > All settings.

Select System > Cortana settings.

In the snapped window on the right, highlight the On switch, and press the A button to turn it to Off."

Agreed, this "Hey Cortana" is just awful. Not only is it long winded. It's slow and half of the commands now just end up opening an Internet search.

I've disabled Cortana, there doesn't seem to be a way to turn the old "Xbox" commands back on. So now I'm totally without voice commands. Is there a way of going back once agreeing to Cortana?

Yes, I've done this. That is how I found out that using Cortana makes your game go into it's pause menu. Using the Xbox voice command doesn't pause your game, but you can not use the Xbox voice command over the headset. Perhaps if they could just make
it so the Cortana command did not pause the game? That, I think, would solve the problem.

If you try enabling
Cortana voice commands, are you able to bring up the Settings menu using "Hey Cortana, go to Settings"?

Well its about time somebody took responsibility for this! This is the very first time anyone has tried to explain this! So should those of us needing or wanting to use voice commands switch over to Cortana for good? This will take some getting used to for
those that have used the Kinect voice commands for years. I'm certainly willing to try to retrain myself to use Cortana if need be. And finally thank you for finally giving an understandable explanation for this problem. Saying that I fully expect Xbox to
get back to being able to use voice commands in all areas sooon.

Any news here?
