Cortana does not work!

No I have not done a factory reset. I don't have the time to re-download all the profiles in my family and reinstall all of my games just to get Cortana. Sorry but it's true. I shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops to get this working. I have
already disabled it and went back to the original commands which worked just fine. Don't fix it if it ain't broke i guess....

I have to agree with Scooter3303. Cortana was working fine for me and is now doing the same thing, where I can say "Hey Cortana", she wakes up, then just sits there. Nothing I say will make her react. Before, even saying ANYTHING would make her search when
I didn't want her to or something. Now? Nothing.

Having to factory reset my console to get a feature Microsoft broke with an update to work is inane. I have data limits and having to reinstall my content is beyond rude, too.

On top of this and Netflix suddenly not working well, this update is a major hassle.

My Cortana started acting up about a week ago, like after the September 22nd update for the Preview Program. I can say, "Hey Cortana." and it reads me but nothing else; it won't take any commands.

The nice lady I chatted with could only do basic troubleshooting with a Preview Member update aka ME and after a hard reset, clearing the MAC and other steps, I still have nothing.

I had to revert back to Xbox Legacy Commands on my Kinect and that works fine, so it's not a hardware issue. She advised me to wait until the next update. It shouldn't be long until it gets here and hopefully that fixes it.

Turn it off people its garbage and never works,go back to the XBOX command as its far better and responsive.

Hey there Scooter3303,

What type of commands are you trying to use? Are you able to say something like "Hey Cortana, Go to Settings" and have Cortana recognize it?

Are you using the Kinect sensor or a standard Xbox chat headset?

I would try power cycling and retry using Cortana from there. First, try restarting your console. If Cortana still doesn't work, try a Physical reset (instructions
for both in that link). While the console is off, ensure that all of your cables are connected nice and snug in the back. Power the console back on and try again. If you're using the Kinect for Cortana, try running through your Kinect setup again in the settings
to make sure it's configured appropriately for Cortana to hear you well.
