Cortana Commands

Discus and support Cortana Commands in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Cortana will not shut down when commanded. I say Hey Cortana turn xbox off, but then when prompted for a yes or no IT DOES NOTHING! What can i do?... Discussion in 'XBoX on Consoles' started by Fa1con87, Jun 11, 2016.

    Cortana Commands


    Cortana will not shut down when commanded.

    I say Hey Cortana turn xbox off, but then when prompted for a yes or no

    IT DOES NOTHING!

    What can i do?

    Hey ClaspingBug208! Have you tried using the commands with Cortana disabled? Check out
    these steps to disable Cortana and let us know how it works!

    "Xbox Go to Settings" voice command does not work after fresh reboot.

    Hi there, Arthurhahnmiles.

    If you try enabling
    Cortana voice commands    , are you able to bring up the Settings menu using "Hey Cortana, go to Settings"?

    Hey there cortana is still being fully developed and there are expected bugs when using her it's best to report it using the preview dashboard so it can be patched. Next time you have a bug revolving around the Preview program i recommend posting in The
    Preview Forums' for better support.

    If you get a message stating "Group not found" then please reply back here so a Mod can give you permission to access the preview forums.

    For what it's worth the command works fine for me, try a hard reset of your Xbox to see if that fixes the issue when it comes to saying yes or no.

    I just say "hey Cortana turn off" then "yes" when the option pops up on screen

    As PurpleNurpe says though the preview forums are the place to be when it comes to issues with the preview and it's features.

    Cortana supports natural language instead of the use of specific phrases or commands. Just say “Hey Cortana” and ask her a question or give her a command!

    Use Cortana and voice commands from your headset; no Kinect needed!

    Kinect owners can ask Cortana about things like time, weather, and sports scores. For example:

    “Hey Cortana, what time is it”?

    “Hey Cortana, will I need a jacket today?

    “Hey Cortana, did the Golden State Warriors win yesterday?”
