    Cortana and Kinect problem

I have an Xbox One X and I purchased the adapter so I could continue to use Cortana voice commands with Kinect. It was working as expected until it stopped responding on 10/10/19. I tried rebooting Xbox but that made no difference. When I go into Settings/System/Cortana,
it tells me Cortana is no longer supported on Xbox (MS once again dropping support for one of their products because why not) but it also says that voice commands should still work with the Kinect sensor. I also tried recalibrating the Kinect and it passes
that test. Well why isn't it working? Was there some Xbox update that created the problem? I have the Xbox and Kinect connected to a surge protector but there were no other problems with any of my devices, electronics or household electricity when I got home.
Has anyone else had this problem and succeeded in fixing it? I'm really not interested in purchasing an Alexa device just so it can tell Cortana what to do (Thanks for giving up Satya). If that would work, why doesn't Cortana work with Kinect?

    :)

    Cortana and Kinect problem

    Hi Rgiskard,

sorry to hear.Maybe a misunderstanding or false Country or because my One works with INSIDER?? Here my Kinect still work?? And I found this at the XBOX Support

    "Where is cortana?"

f you have a Kinect connected to your Xbox One, you can use

    Xbox voice commands
. This means you can use commands like “Xbox, go home,” “Xbox, pause,” and “Xbox, record that” to control your console. If you were previously using Cortana voice commands, you’ll automatically switch over to Xbox voice commands.

If you haven’t used voice commands before, go to
    Settings > Devices & Streaming >
    Kinect to enable.

Hope this helps and please keep us informed.

Having a issues with Kinect "xbox on" command and "instant-on" feature

Update: I tried switching to Cortana and saying "Hey Cortana, Xbox On," "Hey Cortana, turn on," and "Hey Cortana, turn the xbox on" several times and none of those commands worked. They used to work perfectly with Cortana on my old Xbox.

At this point, I think there is either something wrong with my machine or that the Xbox One S does not support "Xbox On" commands. I think maybe the Kinect microphone is not active when the Xbox is off. Perhaps a problem with the implementation of the USB
    port or the Kinect Adaptor.

    Kinect Not Consistently Controlling TV

Hello, do you have Cortana enabled and are using the "hey Cortana" commands ? If so try turning Cortana off and use the regular "xbox" commands to test if your Kinect then has better control.

It's also a good choice to set up the Kinect again in the Kinect options on your Xbox One.

Is this true death of the Kinect?

Kinect will still work on the Xbox One with games but as for Cortana and Alexa, you will have to use your smart speaker, phone or PC. Cortana will not work with Kinect or a headset in the upcoming update.
