Cortana always opens a web search instead of opening the app

You can try to open the windows store trouble shooting app to do so you can

-Click the Cortana button to open the virtual assistant’s search box

-Input ‘troubleshoot’ in the search box.

-Click on Troubleshoot to open the Settings window’s Troubleshoot tab.

-Select the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter and press Run the troubleshooter to open the troubleshooter

The trouble shooter will scan for any issues within the app and then you can go through the troubleshooter’s resolutions

Open the Xbox app by clicking Start menu tile. Or you can enter ‘Xbox’
into the Cortana search box instead.

Next, sign in to the Xbox app. Note that a Microsoft Account is required to sign in to the Xbox app.

At the bottom left corner of the Xbox app, there’s a Settings button gear icon on the sidebar. Click the Settings button
and select Game DVR.

Now you can select Record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR option. If
that option is off, click it to switch it back on.

Close the Xbox app and restart Windows.

Press the Win key + G again to
open the Game bar.

Just found out if you use cortana with the kenict system you can ask it to open apps and they open i tried opening my netflix this way and it worked

I think you're being unfairly nice with that comment. All kidding aside, there's a distinct pattern to Cortana on every Xbox I've seen (5 now) ranging from the 360 to the One X:

You: "Hey, Cortana. <ask her to do something>

Cortana (beeps): "..."

You: <repeat what you earlier>

Every.

Single.

Time.

There's theres an 80% chance that no matter what you say, she'll search for it on the web. A good example, is she'll give you the example to use "Show labels":

You: "Show labels."

Cortana: "Let me look that up for you/Would you like me to search for that?"

You: "Hey Cortana, open My Apps and Games."

Cortana: "Here a few things I found on the web."

Today she responded by displaying, State of Decay 2. I know it's not me. I enunciate very clearly. Alexa and Google Assistant never have a problem even when I'm drunk.

Honestly, the only thing she gets right every time is "stop listening". If Cortana's an example of the direction AI may be going, we have no need to worry about AI taking over the world. At least in Cortana's case she'll be too busy looking everything up.

So are you logged in via web browser?, you need to download it through the Microsoft Store app for Windows 10 in the PC you plan to install it. the app comes presintalled, just click the Start button to open the menu and search for the app, you can proceed
from there to search the game
