  1. Corrupted "system data"/"system items. Help needed

Well this is the first major problem I've ever had with this console and I had it for maybe 5 years or more.

When I first turned it on today It would just sit at the Xbox 360 logo boot screen for 15 minutes then finally go to the white dashboard loading screen with the little spinning loading icon and sit there for another 15min. After it would load it would'nt
connect to XBL, and sometimes it would sign me in (offline) and sometimes not after a couple reboots

Accessing my hard drive would make each selection freeze for a few seconds or minutes until I'd get access. Some of my themes would have the corrupted profile and yellow exclamation point on them , and under my HDD, under "system items" the first listing
"system data" said it was corrupted. It won't let me delete anything corrupted so I cleared the system cache then restarted, no change. So I shut down unplugged removed the HDD then Rattacthed it and everything loaded up fast and good and connected fine.

The only thing thats is still messed up is under my HDD under "System Items" he first listing that use to say "System Data" then "System Items" and now only says "Corrupted" It's 2.2gb in size.

So I'm wondering can I try to delete this? I it won't let me how can I fix it? Ane last of all what data did this hold?

    :)

This awfully sounds as if your hard drive is failing. Please try the following as quickly as possible:

Get yourself a known working USB hard drive (at least USB 2.0, and at least as much storage as your current Xbox hard drive, but not more than 2TB). Make sure there is no important data on that drive, as we are going to delete all the stuff on the drive!!!

Connect the USB drive to your console and go to the storage settings. Have the console prepare that USB drive as a storage device.

Now transfer all non-corrupt data over to your USB drive.

Turn the console off and remove the internal hard drive.

Try to do an online update via XBox Live, or try doing the update offline with another

USB stick that you prepare with the offline update

    Can't download Bioshock!

Finally got the game to download. At a friends suggestion I deleted the Marketplace System Data in the System Items folder. So if anyone else who posted on this thread wants to try this solution the steps that worked for me was:

Delete any corrupted or incomplete game data, deleted the Marketplace System Data, clear the System Cache, restart the system, and finally re-download from Purchase History.

And thank you Judge Bergan for attempting to help.

Corrupted "system data"/"system items. Help needed

    Hello,

From my experience the only way to salvage that as such is to reformat the drive. But this will also wipe other information such as DLC & game saves. You could possibly transfer all of the important data to a USB stick or portable hard drive. Reformat
the drive and return the data. The system will create its own system data again.

My slim gets a corrupted memory unit so I bypass it and just use the hard drive.

The best way to clear the system cache:

    1. Remove profile - SETTINGS page (far right from home page), select STORAGE, then find your profile and remove.

    2. While in you hard drive under GAMES & APPS look for any red or yellow icons with incomplete or unknown. Delete them.

3.Clear System Cache - SETTINGS page, select STORAGE and highlight a drive but don't select it. Press Y and select Clear System Cache. Agree when asked.

    4. Be Patient - turn your console off for a full minute. This assists in resetting the console.

    5. Turn on the console and download your profile - it is the icon next to 'create a profile'. Try again

    Good luck & happy gaming

    On Demand Cannot Download

Try clearing the Marketplace System Data in between deleting the corrupted file and clearing the system cache. The Marketplace System Data is a cache specific to the Marketplace and there could be something corrupt in there that is causing the problem. Deleting
this cache will not affect anything.

You can find the Marketplace System Data in Storage under System Items.

    Mass effect Download endless loop

Try deleting the game download, the Marketplace System Data (located in storage, under system items), and then the cache before trying to redownload. It's likely the download corrupted.

Connection issues with Xbox 360/Xbox Live and Xfinity/Comcast. Tried all suggestions on the Xbox Live Port configuration page and have ALL ports forwarded/open. I have a hardline Ethernet cable connected to my system now and am still getting dropped.

Just fixed the problem. There were corrupted files in my avatar. They are World of Tank avatar items. I deleted them and now CoD Advanced Warfare works fine. Can't say the same about WoT though. Whenever I go back into WoT, the game adds the avatar items
    back and causes much frustration.

    Check for corrupted data

After you have cleared your system cache, you should also check your system for corrupted data.

Press the Guide button on your controller

    Select Settings

    Select System Settings

    Select Storage.

Select your storage device (your Hard Drive or Memory Unit).

Select the folder Games and Apps.

You will have to look through each folder to check for corrupted data.

Note Corrupted files are displayed with a yellow exclamation point (!).

Select any corrupted data files you find and select Delete.
