    Corrupted Overwatch game


    I downloaded Overwatch about 6 months ago and it had been working great until today. When I tried opening the game about 4 or 5 times, I wouldn't launch. I resorted to uninstalling the game, then reinstalling it, hoping that would fix the issue. When I went
    to reinstall, it kept stopping the installation and said that "the item you're trying to use has been corrupted". Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

    Corrupted item error message

    After the recent Overwatch patch that added the new hero, Ana, I got an error saying that the item I wanted to launch (Overwatch) was corrupted and that I should uninstall and reinstall it. I've done this several times and I still get the same message when
    I go to launch the game. I'm at a loss for what to do and Ireally don't want to stop playing this awesome game. Can anyone help?

    This same thing happened to me. I am trying to find out what happened but I couldn't find anything yet. Do you know if it could be a system problem or a problem with the game?

    Sorry to hear about the issue with Overwatch not installing or launching. Is your Xbox One console up to date?

    Here's how to check

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    2. Select Settings and the All settings.

    3. Select System and then click on Updates.

    If there is an available update, you'll see an option that states "Console update available" clicking on that will begin the update process. More details on Xbox One console updates

    Aside from that, if this is a disc based game. Have you tried to install the game while the console is disconnected from Xbox Live and the Internet?

    My games keep crashing

    The Overwatch issue sounds like you have a corrupted file. You may have to reinstall the game. Call of Duty had a lot of crash issues at launch. I haven't heard of any since. This makes me think you have a corrupted file that's affecting more then just
    one game. I would start by trying to reinstall each game that's giving you issues. Time consuming and annoying I know. But it might be as simple as that.
