Corrupted Game Data Fallout 4 w/mods

Fallout 4 keeps crashing, I've lost 3 games due to corrupted data, at 50, 25 and 10 hours.
I have tried all the usual tricks including hard reset, deleting most recent game files, reinstalling the game, logging out of profile and logging back in, using a different profile.
I'm now trying to store the game data on an USB because the cloud files are also getting corrupted, typically when I exit the game. I figure if I can store the game data separately on an USB, I might be able to preserve the game data even if the game
crashes. While I can save the actual game on the USB, it appears I won't be able to be able to save the game data so I can save my progress. This was also true of the external hard drive when I tried to save the game there.

I should mention that I always log out be exiting the game first, as I heard thet can prevent game files from being corrupted. Doesn't work.

Yes, I could play without the mods, but I've already beaten the game and want to play something different, and I have no way of determining which mod is causing the game to crash, other then to painfully deactivate and activate each one by trial and error.
Should I just give up and move on? Is there a mod that will rearrange the load order to prevent crashing on X Box? Is there a list somewhere of mods that are known to cause crashes? Are certain mods more likely to crash the game then others (crafting mods
    vs visual mods, for example)

I'm having a blast playing the game, but it doesn't look like I'll ever finish it.

If anyone has any ideas, I'm open to suggestions.

    Thanks,

    - Brian

    :)

Unfortunately the cloud data also seems to be corrupted. This has happened three times now, hence me trying to save on an USB.
