Corrupt save data when not connected to Live

Hey guys, not sure if this'd go in this section, but it seems fitting enough. I've been reading up on threads about corrupted data but I haven't seen any that address this specific issue:

Whenever I'm not connected to Xbox Live, a lot of my save data is corrupt on games I want to play while offline, given I rarely have access to Live, but if I try playing them while connected to Live, often after downloading an update, then my save data is completely
fine. However, if I do that and then go offline, the save data on that game will still be available, but only for a few game-rotations of switching out different games.

How can I fix this? This really, really makes me regret ever even connecting to Live, if it was just going to corrupt all of my data for offline use, that is completely fine otherwise.

Game saves

Where can I find information about game save data for xbox 360? I cannot access game save data, unless I am connected to xbox live. I want to access gave save data even when I do not have an internet connection. I believe my game save data should be on the
hdd, not in the cloud.

Xbox Live Account Question

You can use the USB to do all the things you want - Travel with the GT Profile/Save Games.

You should only Copy your save data, as this will ensure if it does become corrupt you do have a back up.

Your GT Profile is saved on the xbox servers, if that becomes corrupt all you will lose is what you did since you connected to live the last time. (achievements basically)

It may not be the Live connection that is corrupting the saves...... It should not make a difference as far as I know. Try a differet storage device... another HDD if you can. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hi there!

Unfortunately there is no way to retrieve an older back up as everything in the Xbox Live cloud get's overwritten anytime you exit the game while connected to Xbox Live. It's an automatic process and does so to make sure your data stays up to date so you
can recover it if the data becomes corrupted, you'll be able to get your most recent save.

If the game is starting new after syncing your data from the cloud then it could be possible that your game play was never backed up to the cloud either because the Xbox was not connected to Xbox Live while you are playing, or the game never properly quit
and the data was corrupted locally.

It's possible something affected the sync when you tried playing while it was still installing and when you selected the NEW save rather than the OLD one when the game asked.

When you deleted the save data did you also delete it from the cloud save storage?

If the save data is corrupt, it will need to be deleted from the cloud as well or else the corrupted data will be uploaded back.

Hi there,

That's an odd error message to receive when you have plenty of storage space. It's possible some local saved data may be corrupted causing a bug in the hard drive when trying to save the world he's trying to create.

I suggest clearing the local saved data from the hard drive and re-sync his data from the Xbox Live Cloud Storage. As long as he has been connected to Xbox Live, his data is automatically backed up and nothing is lost.

Go to Settings>System>Storage>Clear local saved games and the Xbox should restart.
