    Corrupt External Storage drive?


    I have an external storage device plugged into one of the USB ports in my Xbox One S. I have 5 games installed on there, but for some reason, I cannot copy or move any games onto or from it. I also can’t play these games without them crashing. Whenever I try to uninstall the games, it “uninstalls” them, but the amount of storage taken up on the device never changes and I can’t reinstall the games. It also never says if it’s done uninstalling and when I unplug the device after awhile and plug it back it, all the games are there as if they never left. Whenever the games crash, it gives me the error, “Error reading pak file “common.rpak” — Error 0x000001e7. Apparently this error isn’t on the error list. I’m very confused and would like some help fixing this problem.

    Xbox 360 slim corrupting files?

    Hi there,

    The 360 will allow an
    external storage device     to be connected to it. Have you tried saving your maps and such to an external drive to see if the 360's hard drive is going bad, or if the machine itself is corrupting the files. If the machine is corrupting the files, time to replace
    it. If it's just the 360's drive corrupting them you can try looking for a new 360 drive.

    I appreciate the update, Ayden. Do you happen to have an external hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted hard drive may cause these issues so please if these games are stored on your External hard drive, move them to your Internal storage and then unplug the external hard drive to test it out.

    Oh, would you like to delete the games on your external hard drive itself?

    You may need to reformat the hard drive as it may be corrupted.

    " Settings > System > Storage > Choose your external hard drive > Format"

    That should not be a problem but just to make sure, it would be best if you move other packs to internal storage if in case the external hard drive is corrupted.
