Copyrighted gamertags?

So I upload youtube videos from time to time, and I recently uploaded a video where this certain person's gamertag was shown, can they legally take down my video simply because their gamertag was in the video?

Surely there's no copyright established for that/Microsoft own the accounts?

YouTube does t have many protections for fan made videoa because of the combat via on decision against YouTube

That's why daily motion or mega or other streaming sites are more popular they actually check the clain

Hi,

I think it would be unlikely for Microsoft to request this to be taken down - due in no small part to the shear amount of YouTube video's where Gamertags are being shown. They may do so for other reasons though. It really depends on the context, I guess.
I brief view of someone else's Gamertag, with no other loss of privacy or defamation would come under 'fair use'. But I'm no legal expert.

Individual people may file a privacy request with YouTube to have a video removed if they feel their privacy has been affected. The form can be found

If the user who's gamertag was in your video didn't give you permission to use their name/image in the video, or if you didn't tell them they were being recorded, they could have requested YouTube take down.

No different from recording/photographing anyone - if you don't tell them they are being recorded or have their permission to record/photograph them, they have a right to have it removed.

How is a company making a profit off of your gamertag? So did someone post a youtube video with your gamertag on there? Get over yourself.

If it's was not previously registered or trade mark, I don't see any recourse on your side.

PS: Even Microsoft had to
buy the halo4 domain from a domain squatter.
