    hi

    i tried to copy games to my external storage, some games worked, the others did not work.

    i go to manage games, and then say copy, but nothing happens, they dont show in queued.

    i did not see anything like a progress bar with the ones that copied, either...

    GameDVR:Moving/copying videos to external drive??

    What I would love is to select all videos on the game dvr and move them to the external drive. I would also love to set the game dvr to use the external drive to write the videos to instead of the local drive.Setting the bitrate and resolution for the output
    would be great too for the writing to the external drive.

    Currently the process is very long to get say 10 videos off to use for YouTube. I have to edit each one, upload each one, and download each one. For 10 videos it could take me over two hours on DSL just to upload them.

    I have the new update that allows you to connect a 256GB or larger 3.0 USB drive, I have a 500GB 3.0 drive connected and formatted. I want to move/copy my game DVR videos onto that drive instead of uploading and downloading each of the over 200 videos I
    would like to use. Currently I did not see an option in the game dvr or when I select edit on the video to put them on the external drive.

    Move Save Games from Internal HDD to External Storage

    Will copying the game from the internal to external move the save games as well as the installed game? When I try to manage the game it just shows the installed game and not the save data.

    Copying to external disc not working

    I uninstalled both games and then re-installed to the external HDD. Took a while to re-download both games though. When I launched both games they re-synced my progress with the cloud and I am good to go. A bit extreme I know but it worked for me. YMMV.

    I deleted most of my games, downloaded and copied...

    So most games I can copy from external to internal, but from internal to external doesn't work well, especially wolfenstein and cod don't copy to external. Also my car packs from forza don't copy either way.

    Big pain in the bud to try to get all stuff exactly on the external drive, Microsoft please fix it!

    Problem solved, I was just to impatient...

    After clicking on copy all I waited a little, then it started copying...

    I left that screen to early before...

    You cannot play discs on Series S, as it has no disc drive with which to validate the copy protection. No, an external drive will not be possible. You'll have to purchase them digitally, or use an Xbox with a disc drive

    I apologize, but it is not possible to play disc-based games on the Xbox Series S since it does not have a disc drive. Copying or moving the game through an external hard drive or using an external disc drive will not work, as the game license is tied to the physical disc itself. If you wish to play your disc games on the Xbox Series S, you will need to purchase their digital versions.
