Copying music from home computer to Xbox One S

I am not a game player. I can never justify spending so much time in front of a computer or a TV to play game. However, I do enjoy movies and hi-fi sound.

Hence the reason I decided to buy the Xbox one S so I can stream HD movies and listen to quality sound.

Now, I am finding out that I have to subscribe to some Xbox live to even get a simple app as Internet Explorer. To make matter worse, I can't even copy my music from my other computer to the Xbox one S.

Am I missing something? If that is true, that is crazy. How can Microsoft make such a silly marketing mistake?

I remember a few years ago I bought their Zune HD hoping I could easily import my music using WMP, that didn't work. Everything had to be reloaded through the Zune Software, which was a mistake and I believe that killed that device much sooner than expected.

Why should I have to subscribe to some service and pay an additional fee (which adds to the overall price of the unit) just to download some basic apps that should have been pre-loaded or easy to download?

Unless I can find another way of resolving these issues, the console will be on his way back to the seller soon.

If you guys know a way of transferring my music to the Xbox One S without having to rip all the cd (100's of them), please let me know.

    Thanks much

    :)

  2. How to redownload purchased music?

I own two Windows 8 devices; one tablet and one desktop computer. I've purchased some music from the Xbox Music Store using the tablet. The purchased music doesn't automatically appear in "my music" on the desktop computer and I cannot find any way of redownloading
    the purchased music.

Obviously I could just copy the MP3-files from the tablet to the desktop computer (which I have done) but I would still like to know how i redownload purchased music, in case I somehow lose my MP3s.

Is it possible to redownload purchased music? If yes, how?

Purchased music on phone not downloading to computer

Xbox Music Pass - with 10 free mp3 downloads per month

Lumia 1020 used to search and make the purchases

I used to use the zune client and drag over the purchases to the home computer, that is no longer available.

Home computer running Win8, with music, options set to automatically download purchases.

Music has an error on each purchase "Download Error !", but no details.

How do I get my purchases to my computer now?

    Hey there,

If you already have the MP3 files, you can simply transfer them to a USB drive or play them over DLNA and play from the Media Player app (there are also a diverse range of apps available on the Xbox Store to achieve this as well). Check our

Hope this helps clear up any confusion!

Xbox Music syncing issue Windows 8 App

    Hey there Universal Truth,

Thanks for asking us here in the forums.

So to re-iterate what Franco was saying, is this computer that you have installed Windows 8 on, the only computer that you have on your network? The files may be being picked up from a different device that they're stored on.

If that's the case, to use the 'Cloud' feature of Xbox Music to stream music from one device to another, you would need to have an Xbox Music Pass. If you put an actual physical copy of the music on the device, you'll be able to access it without the Music
    Pass.

Let us know a bit more about your set-up. Thanks!

    xbox music error 0xc1010091 (0xc1010091)

    Hello markdorons,

    I hope this helps!

    Overview

With an Xbox Music Pass subscription, you can download, stream, and listen to as many songs from the Xbox Music store as you want, as often as you want.

Associate up to four devices with your Xbox Music Pass

Your Xbox Music Pass allows you to download and sync items to a combination of four different devices which has the Xbox Music App. (This includes Windows 8 computers, tablets, Xbox 360 consoles, or Windows Phone 8 devices.) For example, you can download
music to your work computer, a laptop, a tablet device, and a Windows Phone 8. Or you can download music to one computer and then sync that music to a Windows Phone 8, Xbox 360 console, and another computer.

Once you've downloaded or synced music from your Xbox Music Pass to a computer or device, that computer or device will be associated with your Xbox Music Pass for at least 30 days.

If you want to change the computers or devices that are associated with your Xbox Music Pass (for example, say you replace your home computer), you can swap out a computer or device every 30 days.

    Notes

    • You can only use your Xbox Music Pass on Windows Phone 8 devices that use your Microsoft account.
    • Xbox Music Pass is designed for a single user. If other members of your household have Windows Phone 8 devices, their own Microsoft accounts will be associated with their phones and, therefore, they would need their own Xbox Music Passes.

View devices that are associated with your Xbox Music Pass

Here’s how to see which devices you’ve associated with your Xbox Music Pass:

    On your Windows 8 computer:

    1. Start Xbox Music and sign in.
    2. Open the charms bar by swiping from the right (on a tablet) or placing your cursor in the upper or lower right-hand corner of your screen.
    3. Click or tap Settings, select Account, and then select Manage Music Pass Devices.
    On your Windows Phone:

    1. Open Internet Explorer and go to Xbox.com.
    2. Sign in with your Microsoft account.
    3. Tap Settings (upper right-hand corner of the screen).
    4. Tap My account.
    5. Tap Manage Music Devices.

Change the devices that are associated with your Xbox Music Pass

To remove a computer or device from your Music Pass

Open your account. (For information about how to do this, see the “View devices that are associated with your Xbox Music Pass” section.) Then, click Remove next to the name of the computer or device.

To add a Windows 8 computer or tablet to your Xbox Music Pass

Download an Xbox Music Pass item from the Xbox Music Store to your computer. It will be added automatically.

To add a Windows Phone to your Xbox Music Pass

Sync an Xbox Music Pass item you downloaded from Xbox Music Store to your device. It will be added automatically.
