Copying Installed Games from One External Drive to another External Drive

"can i copy xbox one games from one external hard drive to another" Currently, you can only have two copies of a game (well, three if you count the one that's always in the cloud). One copy on your Xbox and one copy on a single USB 3.0 external drive. However,
you should be able to have two external drives plugged into the Xbox and use the Move command to transfer the game/games from one to the other.

The best way is via the external drive.

You can chose to either move, or copy, content to it. I'd personally suggest copying everything to the external HDD and then using that on the "new" Xbox One. That way all your installed/downloaded games are still on the internal drive of the old one, and
all your games are also on the external drive of the new one.

Theres really no data aside from installed games/apps really, your saves and such will sync right over upon signing into your gamertag

Yes. If you have a USB 3.0 external storage with a capacity of 128 GB or greater, you can use it to download games on a console, then plug that drive into another console. As long as you are signed into an account with an active Game Pass subscription, you can play Game Pass titles that are downloaded on the external drive.

When you first connect an external drive, Xbox prompts you to format it. You’ll also be asked if you intend on using the external drive primarily with that specific console or if you intend to use the drive with multiple consoles.

Then, to change it so the games are installed to the external drive, go to Settings > System > Storage devices.
Select Change install locations. Select your external drive as the default install.

From the Storage devices menu, you can also select a drive and choose 'Move or copy' in order to copy games that are already installed from the Xbox's internal storage to the external drive.

if you mean digital games from the store then yes you just plug in your external drive then goto manage game and add ons and choose to copy or move to the external drive etc.

I do move, but it seems the games just copied, and when i check whats on my drives the games appear on the internal and external drive, then when i delete from the internal drive, the game also deletes from the external drive?

I remember when i dowloaded doom3 it did say must be installed on the internal drive, are some games restricted to only allowed to be on the internal drive?
