    My friend has painfully slow internet and he often buys games I own. If I have it on an external hard drive can he copy it to his internal drive to play to save the download (he owns the game also) thanks

    "can i copy xbox one games from one external hard drive to another" Currently, you can only have two copies of a game (well, three if you count the one that's always in the cloud). One copy on your Xbox and one copy on a single USB 3.0 external drive. However,
    you should be able to have two external drives plugged into the Xbox and use the Move command to transfer the game/games from one to the other.

    Hi,

    I really hate to reply to questions marked as 'answer' but in this instance I feel that I must.

    Digital games will work on any account that also owns the game and can connect to Xbox Live. Digital download will also work if the second user has the disc instead of the digital licence. It also works the other way round.

    What parity described is how it works on 360. Xbox One does things differently.

    He does not need to connect his console to your internet, he can just have a copy of the game. As long they are connected to Live it will work.

    No, because the license follows the game and would still belong to you. He could connect his console to your internet and download the games that way.

    I deleted most of my games, downloaded and copied...

    So most games I can copy from external to internal, but from internal to external doesn't work well, especially wolfenstein and cod don't copy to external. Also my car packs from forza don't copy either way.

    Big pain in the bud to try to get all stuff exactly on the external drive, Microsoft please fix it!

    Sorry for your trouble ThomasForbes1,

    what make and model is your external drive. Have you already hooked up the external drive to a PC and checked the drive for errors? The games currently allocated on the external drive - were they copied or moved from the internal drive? Were the games on
    the external drive directly downloaded to it?

    Since the game(s) load without the external drive being connected you seemingly have correct game binaries on your internal drive and I am assuming you may have copies of the same game binaries on the external drive. The copy and move function can be confusing
    when working with storage (e.g. internal and external hdd)
