    Hey everyone. Can someone PLEASE clear this up for me. The copying games and updates feature to other consoles. I have call of duty ww2 on physical disk however the install has been failing to go past 4%. No matter what i do. Even with a new copy of the
    game. Every other game works fine apart from codww2. If i copy my friends game files from his xbox to a external HDD or even over network to my console, will it work? Now why im asking this is that he has the digital downloaded version, where as i have a disk.
    So if my xbox recognizes my disk, if i copy his codww2 to my xbox, will it ask for a disk since i dont actually own the digital copy? Could i just put my disk in and play? Or would i need to log into his account and/or buy the digital copy myself? I take it
    the disk itself is only a key to launch the game, but would a digital copy from someone elses console ask me on my console, to put in the disk? I havent seen any help or info on this topic. Iv seen alot of people asking this as people with scratched disks
    that wont install maybe helpfull for them. My xbox recognizes the game disk as codww2 so id presume this shell work? Or is digital and physical copies of games intirely different. Would really appreciate it if someone from xbox could help me here. Iv tried
    everything evem support line they dony even know if it would work. I need help before i trott my console across town to copy it and come back just to be dissapointed.

    Ps this disk DID work on a previous xbox, it was working fine, my oneS blew up in a power surge (disk was NOT in console) then i bought a new minecrafy edition oneS, and all of a sudden my codww2 wont work. Every other game seems fine so im not sure if its
    a faulty console i doubt it. Maybe my disk just has data rott of some sort of deep scratch that the eye just cant see im not sure but my disk is in great condition i bought it brand new and look after my games so idk wtf is going on. Please help.

    Hi there,

    yes, copying the game from one device to another will work, it might need to be the exact same version of the game though. When the game is started on your console, it will check if you own the license. This will check if you have a digital license or a
    disc inserted (that holds the proper license). If the disc can be read properly then the game should start.

    Assuming there are no other options on your console or disk causing this problem.

    Also try borrowing another copy from a friend, or renting it from red box. Then install that copy onto your Xbox and reinsert you original disk in.

    If you have a friend that has the game installed on their Xbox, then you can take a formatted Hard drive to their house, copy the game from them, go home and copy it to your console, and just use your phones hotspot for a bit to register you own the game

    Hey there, honestly that's sounding like the disc. Have you been able try a copy from a friend? I would suggest talking to Game Fly for another copy.
