    Hello,
    I'm here to ask a simple question :
    How can you copy/paste a windows xbox game that you legaly own from one of your computer to another ?
    This feature exists (and is really easy to access on ALL other popular game launcher), I can't believe we can't do this on xbox app on windows...
    For Christ sake's, all people on hearth don't have fibre-optic network... It's a non sense to have to download several times the same game (it also applies when you and a friend legally own the game and you want to copy the game to his/her computer to play together and have some goold old F-U-N...).
    Furthermore, I think it's an ecological aberation to have to re-download the game...
    SO, please, microsoft, add a feature to copy game from external hdd on xbox app...

    Game pass might have the most overpaid programmers of all time.

    Currently, Windows 10 doesn't have official support for making a copy or backup of downloaded Store apps and games for use on another device. The closest official feature is

    Delivery Optimization     which lets you download the app or game from another computer on your local network; see if that feature is suitable for your needs.

    I believe that since you formatted your PC and reinstalled Windows, the game license could have been lost. The game license is not saved on the game folder. This is why you will need to download and install a game from the beginning even if you copy/paste the game folder from another computer to your own computer.

    Initially I thought that since the game was installed on another HD/partition, the game license could also have been saved there. But now I think it was probably saved on the partition that Windows was installed (the one you formatted), since it is linked to Windows native apps (Microsoft store and the Xbox app). That's why you are having this behavior from the Xbox app.

    This i not correct. On steam you can use steam to move games to different drives and load them on steam that is signed by another user (I did this with my kids), and as well you can just copy/paste game in steemapp/common folder and
    when you click to install it, it checks all files and if needed it updates them to latest version.

    I tried exporting it to different drive, load it on my new computer, but it does not work.

    Download it again comment is funny when you have games that are 40GB-100GB in size.

    Hi,

    I assume you're talking about the PC version?

    Only the Steam version has files that could be copied to another drive and subsequently put on another PC. The other person will have to own the Steam version on their account though.

    It's not possible to do this from the Windows Store version.
