    Copy/move xbox one games from hdd to hdd


    Hi there I have had this issue for a while now, my friend has and xbox one as do I, his hdd crashed and dowsnt want to re download all his games, now I have an extra hdd that I copy games to in case of emergencies like this, on which I would copy my xbox
    one games to, and borrow my hdd to my friend so that he doesn't have to download, now the only problem is that, a certain game will not copy no matter what, Fortnite. I have tried using a different hdd, I have tried using a different usb port, I have hard
    reset my console, and I have the latest system update and the game itself is updated, and still wont copy, it say transfer stopped at about 3%.

    Please help me

    You got 3 choices

    Move a file/game to one HDD to another.

    Copy a file/game,it will appears on both HDD.

    Delete file/game.

    Xbox one external storage issue

    Hi, I have an issue with external hard drive on Xbox one since the last update (spring update 2017). When I connect the external drive it shows my games and plays it as well as before, but I can't move them to internal HDD, in the game management area there
    are no option such as MOVE TO or COPY TO. also I can't move my games from internal HDD to external HDD. What should I do?

    It could be something that has to do with the console or it might be the save data if it forcing it to stay on the internal hdd



    Clear persistent storage:

    • Press the menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
    • In the Settings menu, select Disc & Blu-ray settings.
    • From here, select Persistent storage and clear it.

    Fortnite is a digital game and is on my external hdd and I want to copy it to another external hdd, which was never a problem before, but now suddenly is.

    If I have the same XBox One game saved to multiple external drives, how can I tell which drive is being used?

    if i'm not mistaken the game run from last known location so if it was last run on HDD and you add the SSD without unplugging the HDD it will most likely run from the HDD

    edit: so you can copy to the SSD unplug the HDD start the game then plug the HDD back and it should run from SSD in the future

    and if it does not work properly you can always simply just move the game (removing it from HDD) instead of copying

    Don't try and copy your save game or you will invalidate it and have to start over.

    Forza only allows one copy of your save, you can move it from your HDD to the cloud but you can't have a copy on your HDD and another on the cloud i'm afraid.
