    Copilot wireless pc Part #2

February 2019 somebody brought this up. It ended with them buying a wireless adapter.

I am revisiting this issue because I have a PC and I am streaming my Xbox One X. I just bought a Xbox Wireless adapter V2.0 and when the two controllers connect directly to the Xbox One X console copilot is perfect. However when I stream to my PC and I
connect the two controllers via the Xbox wireless adapter V2.0, when activating the copilot mode (via Settings --> Ease --> Controllers) I get "Connect an Xbox One controller to get started". Actually when I do anything regarding configuration of the controller
(like "Vibration settings, Button mapping, or Accessories in "Devices & Streaming" they all state that I need to "Connect an Xbox One controller to get started". Outside of copilot mode, the controllers connect fine with the wireless adapter and I can play
regularly with two controllers as separate. Also, the problem persists when I took the batteries out of the controllers and plugged in USB directly to the PC. Symptoms still manifest as needing a controller to get started.

I updated the firmware on both controllers. I assigned both controllers to my Xbox account. I reset the PC and console as well after all these changes. However I still get that my two controllers aren't connected when trying to get copilot on the PC via
the Xbox wireless adapter. Separately the controller work with the wireless adapter when streaming from PC. They operate fine. It's just specifically the copilot mode that I cannot seem to get to work. Any ideas?

I downloaded the "Xbox accessories app" for Windows 10. It works on the Windows 10 PC copilot mode successfully. But this is copilot mode for Windows 10. I retried on Xbox One X but still copilot mode failed or controller not acknowledged.

I will also throw in that I bought the Xbox Wireless Adapter from a third party. I looked at the image for V1 and V2. I am sure based on the image it's V2. Given how many fakes are out there a slim possibility might be that it's V1? Even if that's the
case, would V1 work with copilot mode? Or should both versions work? This is just a wild card as I don't believe it to be fake. It looks slim and authentic. And both controllers connected with great facility and appears to be stable with no loss in connectivity
although I haven't really played long with it.

I'll also throw in.. the copilot mode is awesome. Microsoft shouldn't limit it to just two. It should be infinite amount (i.e. 8 controllers) to control one player. There is fun to be had with this.. an experiment Nintendo had done with Super Mario 3D
world on the Wii U and players controlled the dinosaur. Nobody knew who botched up the gameplay when we failed to take the dinosaur to the end.

    :)

Your understanding is correct. It splits Player 1 so that it is controlled by two controllers.. or as you put it links two controllers so that they were as one. In my case, I have two kids. Rather than ask my kids to pass over the controller I just let
them think they are controlling the character. But I assist them when all else fails. Or I let my two children play as one because I have many single player games in which it could avoid having them fight.

I also left the controller connected to Xbox but it's too far away. I have my Xbox One X downstairs and I have a Windows 10 PC upstairs. The two controllers disconnect due to the long distance away.

I successfully connected my controllers to my Windows 10 PC in copilot mode (to play Windows 10 games). I also successfully connected my controllers to Xbox One X in copilot mode but in direct sync to the console. However, I am not successful in linking
the two controllers in copilot when streaming Xbox One X to my Windows 10 PC. In the last case, my controllers are physically connected to the Windows 10 PC while it is streaming the Xbox One X. The controllers are connected in regular fashion (i.e. they
do work as player 1 + Player 2) in this streaming mode but in configuring for copilot mode or accessories, the streaming does not recognize any controllers despite the controllers functioning as two players. I have tried using USB too to ensure that it's
not the wireless adapter issue. Same result. It might be a situation that isn't anticipated. Nonetheless an issue I stumbled upon as I am avoiding having to relocate my console from downstairs to upstairs. That may be the case if I don't hear any suggestions.

I am not trying to connect the two controllers simultaneously on Windows 10 PC and Xbox One X. Just the copilot mode on Windows 10 PC in streaming Xbox console.

    Hello,

I am not certain I know an answer to this however with some more information there may be an alternative work around. When you are using co-pilot, is this to enable you and another person to control the game at once?

My understanding of co-pilot is - "Copilot on Xbox One. Copilot links
two controllers so you can use them as if they were one controller. The person who turns on Copilot for
    their controller is the pilot."

I have used the Xbox Streaming app to play my Xbox on my laptop also, however I just left the controller connected to the Xbox as I had no need to connect it to the PC as well.

Or are you attempting to have two controllers work on both your PC and Xbox simultaneously?

Have you tried connecting the controller via USB cable, and then setting up Copilot?

Does it work with a wired connection?
Yes it works wired. Being in a wheelchair wires make it hard to move around.

    Hi there ,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue. I recommend to take a look at the following resource article:

    Copilot on Xbox One
    .

Try this out and let us know the results.
I did try that but it never shows Ease of Access. Does it matter that I'm on a PC? I don't own a xbox.
