It's not supposed to run fast

It would be worrisome.if it did

It's is supposed to be quiet

As long as the console.isnt shutting down then there is no issue

It means it's working

As it's venting the heat as wpak said it's normal for.it to.run quiet

And no you aren't supposed to.hear it

Running off the usb does cause more stress then it is worth to the psu

Using a cooling fan may help your console a bit to stay cooler, however, the improvement is not noticeable.

If you decide to purchase one, it is not going to damage your device.

Xbox console fan should do the job without problems, just make sure to properly ventilate your console as recommended in this support article:

Modern computers push 65-75degrees depending on the game

Series x pushes 60-65 while sony goes 65+ when it comes to HD GAMES IF you are pushing RAYtracing expect that to be normal

It also could.be your positioning

Is your console clear on the top vent ?

I have mine sideways with nothing obstructing either side

With 10' from the external hdd I run for bc games

I have a glass shelf that's wide so it's suction and output are not obstructed

I don't run my ps5 cause during the summer it is like a sauna so I try and reserve it for the late night or winter nights luckily it's in the basement

And I do run 24hour fans on that unit and it still outputs heat like a sauna

The two games I do run on it well not the last of us 2 ps5due to the known game breaking bug and ff7 remake which I consider worth it

My other games arent so optimized

I run halo infinite at 4k alo g with forza 7

Fyi I run my consoles in my living room which is the first floor but very very cold in the winter and the ps5 never fails to turn it into a sauna

Xbox does heat up the room but not nearly as much

My living room takes up half the whole back of the first floor and it's pretty hard to heat up

If I run a modern day computer in my room it will be a sauna too in my bedroom so yes modern cpus will go hot

They can go anywhere from 65-75degrees easily

You should keep any piece of electronics well ventilated

keep in mind that the console is designed in a specific way in regards to airflow, adding a fan will disrupt this intended flow and could result in more issues then needed.

As long as the console isn't shutting down due to overheating I wouldn't worry about it.
