Convert MXF to FCP X with exporting 8 audio channels in MXF

Is there an easy way to export multiple audio tracks from MXF? When I'm working with an XDCAM MXF workflow with FCP X and it became necessary to export
the project, which has multiple channels of audio (currently 8), to ProRes 422 MOV, keeping each audio track in original source MXF.

At present, there are no MXF Exporter can directly export multiple tracks as individual channels in a MXF-file. PP always mixes down all audio channels to the channels 1 & 2. The 8 audio channels exists in the exported material, but only channels 1 &
2 have audio, the other are blank. A friend have tried to export the video created with Premiere to FCP and then export the finished product in MXF format with 8 channel of audio. But it's too much time wasted. Here is a "light" in relation to the multiple
audio tracks exporting under the situation that you edit multi-stream MXF file in FCP. Aunsoft TransMXF Pro for Mac, is the only completely Multitrack audio Exporter
to preserve, separate and mix multiple audio tracks from original MXF. No matter MXF footages from Panasonic P2, Canon camcorders are recorded with 2, 4, 8 or more audio tracks, you can easily preserve all tracks or get separate channels of audio in MXF.

With TransMXF Pro for Mac, you can transcode MXF to multi-track ProRes MOV for FCP natively editing. Besides, you can also export multiple audio streams from MXF to MKV and MP4. Below is a simple tutorial to convert MXF to FCP X with exporting
    8 audio channels in MXF
. With the advanced audio and video synchronization technology, the output file will with video and audio in perfect sync.

Step 1: Add MXF files to the Multitrack MXF Exporter

Click "add video" or "add folder" to load multiple audio channels. You can also directly drag files to the program. The program supports batch conversion and allows you capture images.

    Step2: choose the output format

Click the "format" and choose the "Multi-track Video -> Multi-track Apple ProPres 422(*.mov)" files as the output format.

    Step3: Set multi-task settings

Click "settings" to preserve multiple audio tracks in original MXF. The screenshot shows 4 tracks of audio, if your source MXF with 8 tracks, you will get
8 channels here. You have more choices, if you don’t want to keep all audio tracks, you can uncheck undesired ones. And you also can mix multi-audio tracks into individual track.

Step4: Convert MXF files into multiple track MOV

Click "Start Conversion" icon, TransMXF Pro for Mac will convert MXF to multiple audio tracks MOV with high quality. You can preview output file when conversion completed.

How to export MXF file to multiple audio tracks for FCP

Exporting with 2 channels, 4 channels, 8 channels from MXF

For broadcast, we always need a workable multichannel project solution to export MXF files to multiple audio tracks when transcoding MXF to ProRes 422 MOV,
ProRes 422 HQ MOV, ProRes 4444 MOV, etc for post production in FCP.

    "

"Recently I have a multi camera project and everything works perfect but when I export to an MXF file the sound as a "blank frame" in sound. I tried various ways to export and every time I got this frame in the same place. Tried to export with 2 channels,
8 channels, stereo timeline, multichannel timeline and everything result in a MXF in this audio issue."

At present, there are no MXF encoders can directly export multiple tracks as individual channels in a MXF file. Premiere always mixes down all audio channels to the channels 1 & 2, which means that only channels 1 & 2 have audio, the other are blank.
Here is a workable solution to the multiple audio tracks exporting under the situation that you edit multi-stream MXF file in FCP. Aunsoft TransMXF Pro for Mac,

preserve all tracks or get separate channels of audio in MXF for FCP 6/7/X editing.

Below is a simple tutorial to convert MXF to FCP X with exporting 8 audio channels in MXF with stereo timeline. Due to the advanced audio and video synchronization technology, the output file will with video and audio in perfect sync.
Apart from multi-track MOV, you can also convert MXF to MKV and MP4 with 2 channels, 4channels, 8 channels or all audio tracks from source MXF.

Step 1: Add MXF files to the Multi-channel MXF Exporter

Click "add video" or "add folder" to load multiple audio channels. You can also directly drag files to the program. The program supports batch conversion and allows you capture images.

Aunsoft TransMXF Pro Mac -get separate audio tracks to FCP

Now, it's not strange that one MXF video with 2, 4, 8 or more audio tracks. It's easy to merge and combine all audio into 1 track with most converters. But as to preserve and get the separate tracks, quite a few guys feel unprepared and lack an efficient
solution. For the latter one, a workflow to separate audio tracks to FCP from MXF when converting multichannel MXF to ProRes may be very useful for FCP editing.

"I'm converting PMW-200 MXF files to pro res but it seems to be merging the audio channels when converting, even if I select 5.1 in the audio settings. I really need the separate tracks in FCP as I want to isolate the radio mic."

At present, most conversion tool will automatically combine all tracks into 1 track when converting Multitrack MXF to FCP. A converter, which can not deal with multichannel project, becomes more and more powerless. In the case, Aunsoft
    TransMXF Pro for Mac
is the only completely multichannel MXF solution to preserve, export and preserve multiple audio streams from original MXF. For instance, if your MXF with track 1 and track 2 which recorded by different mics and you need
separate audio Tracks 1 and 2 in FCP, the Pro can easily convert MXF to Pro Res with 2 separate channels of audio. Actually, no matter MXF footages from Panasonic P2, Canon or Sony camcorders are recorded with 2, 4, 8 or more audio tracks, the TransMXF Pro
for Mac can handle it easily.

Below is a simple tutorial to convert multi-stream MXF to Pro Res for getting separate audio tracks in FCP. With the advanced audio and video synchronization technology, the output file will with video and audio in perfect sync. Apart
from multi-track MOV, you can also convert MXF to MKV and MP4 with 2 channels, 4 channels, 8 channels or all audio tracks from source MXF.

undesired ones. And you also can mix multi-audio tracks into individual track.

Step4: Convert MXF files into multiple track MOV

Click "Start Conversion" icon, TransMXF Pro for Mac will convert MXF to RroRes with separate audio channels. You can preview output file

Who here still has a HD-DVD player?

The only real benefit of Blu-Ray, is the amount of Channels of Audio, through HDMI etc... If your using a High Quality Amplifier/Receiver, It doesn't matter anyway.. A High-end Amp, will convert & process 5 channels [Optical] into 7-8 channels anyway...
Blu-Ray is a waste of resources & money...

This whole HDMI bitrate vs 7.1 uncompressed is driving me nuts?!?! What is the best/correct setting?!?!

Why are you saying PCM is two channel? It can be two channel, but it can also be 5.1 or 7.1. Number of channels is independent of the format. PCM is limited to 2.0 over optical due to bandwidth, but HDMI can now support up to thirty some channels of uncompressed
    audio.

If you are running an HDMI cable directly from your Xbox to your receiver, there is never a reason to select Bitstream. Only select Bitstream if you have to use an optical cable to get audio to your receiver.

Source materials can be many different formats: Dolby, DTS, PCM, etc. The Xbox is going to convert all audio it receives, from any source, into PCM. You can't change that, no matter what you select. It has to convert everything to PCM because it has
to be able to mix audio.

After the Xbox converts all incoming audio to PCM and mixes it, then you can select what format the Xbox uses to send the audio to your TV or receiver. Selecting PCM makes the Xbox send out the audio without any further processing and preserves all the
quality of the original signals. Selecting Bitstream makes the Xbox compress the audio before sending it to your receiver. This causes data to be lost and degrades audio quality.

Your receiver is going to have to convert the bitstream back into PCM anyway. All receivers have to convert all incoming digital audio to PCM before being converted to analog. There is simply no good reason to add the extra steps of having your Xbox compress
the audio and have your receiver decode it. You gain nothing and lose audio quality.

The only reason to select Bitstream is if you can't get surround uncompressed to your receiver. That means if you are using an optical cable directly from your Xbox to your receiver or if you are running audio over HDMI to your TV and then over an optical
    cable to your receiver.

Optical gives the choice of 5.1 compressed audio or 2.0 PCM. Most people prefer 5.1 compressed because of the extra channels; 5.1 compressed is the better option for surround sources. With the choice between Dolby and DTS being whatever matches the source.
Dolby is the better choice overall because it is a far more common source audio. 2.0 PCM would be the better choice with native stereo sources though, so you don't lose any audio data.
