Convert GwG version of a game to physical ?

I googled converting a GwG version of a game to physical on Xbox One, but all results are for converting physical to digital. I 'bought/activated' Forza Motorsport 6 when it was part of the GwG program in August 2019. I see the FM6 tile on my Xbox One with
word 'GOLD' on it.

I now have the disc version so I deleted the digital install and removed the tile. Then I inserted the FM6 disc. The console started the install, but I see it's for the GwG version because the tile has 'GOLD' on it again. I confirmed this by ejecting the
disc after the install completed and starting the game, which launched without any missing disc error.

Is my copy of FM6 forever tied to GwG? Anyway to force it to launch only from disc?

If you were signed into the same account that you use on the Xbox One then as long as the game is backwards compatible it should just show up in your "ready to install" section of your Xbox One.

Also, It should work as long as your the region that you are in is the same as the region for that game. Xbox 360 titles can be region locked.

Thanks for the reply. Is there no way to change the tile to point to the disc version? I ask because I moved FM6 out of my group called 'Games with Gold' to my group named 'Disc Games', and it looks odd with the 'GOLD' on the tile.

if your gold lapses then it will use the disc version for authenticating ownership. until then the gwg licence supersedes the disc.

When yall purchase a xbox 360 game from xbox.com do you receive a code for it to play on xbox one or what im having trouble with it

as far as I know there are No options available (or announced) to convert a physical version of a game to a digital version for that game.
