Convenant/Leaderboard ranking question

I've been playing Dark Souls on PC all this time, and I started playing it on 360 again. On PC, I was recently trying to rank up on a Covenant's leaderboards, but realized (after wasting quite a bit of my time) the top 10+ are straight up hackers/cheaters
that would never realistically be topped, because apparently no one cared or ever moderated those leaderboards, especially since GFWL support died in [July?], if anyone ever really cared in the first place.

My question is, (on PC you don't need any subscription to play online. I kind of took advantage of this recent free Gold Weekend, and figured I would check out the 360 leaderboards for my covenant to see if it was full of cheaters/hackers (like PC is), and
it looked legit, so I figured I would just do it) do you need to be Subscribed, or rather "Gold", for each humanity you give for it to add/count for your character on the leaderboard? (for example if I was 100 while Gold, then while not Gold I turned in
another 100 humanity) Or can I still farm and offer humanities, and it recognize all the humanities I offered in the time I wasn't Gold, but whenever I retain Gold, or would it not count and be an absolute enormous waste of time? I will be going out of town
for a while, and won't have internet at all, so there is no point to get Gold right now if I won't be able to really use it anyway.

I would be very thankful for a response by Wednesday evening.
