Controlling Xbox One Volume Coming through Phono TV Output?

I use a pair of bluetooth headphones. The transmitter of these is connected to the phono (red and white) output on my TV. My problem is as follows - the audio from my Xbox one is far too loud and distorted and if I turn it down on my headphones it remains
distorted, just quieter.

This problem is easily solved on some games where one can lower the volume in the options menu and the distortion dissipates. However, in the Master Chief Collection, this is not possible and so I need a way of lowering the volume of the xbox one that is
not the volume of the speakers on my TV, but the phono audio output.

:)

3. Xbox One Passthrough work when off?

It does have a low power state so it wouldn't be impossible for the pass through to be working while "off". Personally I'm looking forward to coming home and saying "Xbox on" which will turn on my tv, sound system, xbox etc. then saying "Xbox watch tv"
and controlling everything else (even volume) by voice. Is it a novelty? Absolutely, and it's an awesome novelty!

I'm sure the format is supported and it's not working because you're not following recommended settings.

Try the Support Forums or try Support themselves. There's a tab at the top of the Forums.

Line out from your TV will be set at full volume.

1. see if there is a setting in your TVs menus to make it follow the TV volume (unlikley)

2. Use the TV's headphone jack (you will probably need to unplug to use the TV speakers)

3. Use one of these between the TV and the headphone sender

Link

If you need Red and White phono connections, then you will also need 2 adapters for that like this (sorry I can't find an in line volume with phono plugs)

Xbox One S audio output volume control

Hi ZoltánBalázs2,

That is still not possible because volume control is only specific to the audio output device (speakers). You control volume only through the TV or any external audio device with speakers. The only exception to this would be volume control for headsets that
don't have the volume control built in. In this case if you plug in a headset to the Xbox One controller via the 3.5mm jack, then volume is controlled by a slider found in the Xbox Accessories app when looking at the controller's settings.

In conclusion, the Xbox One console is not responsible for the volume of the audio output as that is handled by the audio output device itself. The Xbox One just processes the audio formats to whatever you have set it to in the Audio output settings and
then the audio travels to your audio output device, which is what has the volume control. Therefore, as far as volume control goes, the Xbox One Media Remote is only able to control the volume on your TV that you have set up with your Xbox One under the TV
& OneGuide settings and then in "Device Control".

As mentioned previously, please refer back to that support article on what the remote is used for.

Unwanted chatter thru my tv

Hello Barry,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you have a question on how to change chat to not come through your TV. First if there is no headset plugged into the controller, it will automatically come through the TV. If there is a headset yo need
to go to settings>general>Volume & audio output>change party chat output to headset.

Thanks,

Brad

Turtle Beach X12 Question
I'm in the same boat as Toxic and Freelance. I have everything hooked up correctly, but no game audio is coming through my headset. I just opened these up like an hour ago and they won't work.

I have my XBox connected via HDMI, x12s are connected to the XBox via USB, green cable is connnected, red/white is in the corresponding audio out. Volume is turned up everywhere. My game sound is coming through my tv, but not my headphones.
You may find that you have to manually select the audio output on your TV.

If you go into the settings menu on your TV you will normally see two selections, TV speaker and External speaker. If you change the setting from TV speaker to External speaker this should switch off the in-built TV speakers and change the audio output
to the red & white phono sockets on the rear/side of the TV.

Therefore giving you your audio feed for your X12 headset.
