Controllers won't connect

I used my Xbox One this morning, and it worked fine, even played some Destiny. I tried using it later today and my controllers won't connect. I have 2 controllers that will not connect. I've tried fresh batteries and they had no effect. I tried power off
and on a few times with no effect. I tried syncing the traditional way, via the Kinnect, and by USB. The usb option allows for the wired connection but when I disconnect the cable I lose the connection and can't connect wirelessly. I honestly think the chip
responsible for the controller connection just died. I'd like to get this fixed but the Online Warranty Repair form is trying to charge the OOS price because my warranty expired 4 days ago which is not right because I bought this console on 11/27/14 from the
Microsoft Store. I refuse to pay $100+ to get the repairs done when I'm still under warranty. Someone at MS should let me know how to get this fixed.

Xbox 360 controller syncing issues

I have 0 controllers connected to my Xbox because I can't connect any. It isn't just my one controller that won't connect, none of my 4 controllers will.

and if you restart your console it takes you back to the same screen? and your controllers won't connect?

Sorry to hear it. Have you tried power cycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down? If not, give that a try.

As for the warranty, I'm not sure what's going on there but you should try contacting phone support if the website is not giving the correct information. If you live in North America dial 1-800-469-9269

when that happens to me i just plug the controller via usb till it reconizes the controller then unplug it and turn it on via wireless and it works

To sync the controllers on the Xbox One, press the bind button on the console and then within 20 seconds press the connect button on the controller until it flashes, then release and press it again until it stays solid (which may take a while).

I have tried the wireless sync buttons on the console and controller numerous times with no success. I've also tried to sync over USB and that didn't work either, even though the controller was connected for 2+ hours. Nothing that has been suggested has
worked so far. I think my console's wireless chip died.

You can register and even create a repair order at myservice.xbox.com if you think it needs servicing.

Thanks for the update, but. If you connect the other Xbox controller (with drift issues)
It works as expected? (Ignoring the drift)

My old controller is subject to drift issues, which apparently often effect new Microsoft controllers based on what I've read. It connects and "works" with my Xbox though, even though it's a pain.

I tried connecting the new controller to the Xbox via USB cable, it rumbled and turned on, and it appeared to be connected to the Xbox, but none of the buttons worked or affected the movie that was playing, including the home button.

As far as I know, there are no troubleshooting steps I can do bc the controller doesn't work, it appears to connect but the buttons don't work.
