Controller's Right Trigger is Pressing Down on Its Own

Okay. So I have went through 3 Xbox One controllers in my time on the One, and 2 of them have been for the same reason. The reason is rather unlikely, and I have not seen much support posts about it. But the right trigger in both of the controllers
is completely broken. The One keeps registering the trigger as being pressed, but I am not pressing the trigger down. What also keeps reoccuring in both of these controllers is that the top left screw in the back of the controller handles, always comes out
for some reason. I was wondering if anyone has been having these issues and if there is some way to troubleshoot it. EDIT There is also one detail I forgot to add. Both of the right triggers can easily be lifted out of place.

    :)

    right trigger constantly on

Been having an issue with right trigger activating without pressing the trigger down....I ended opening the controller and there was a screw missing from its fitting and was found stuck to the magnet on the board where the trigger makes contact, causing
the control to make a faulty reading hence activating the triggers command line....sorted

Okay so the new controller solved the problem, so I guess my day one controller's right trigger is defective.

Controller's Right Trigger is Pressing Down on Its Own

    Hi Haywire,

Can you please provide the vendor you acquired these controllers through?

While it's uncommon, I have seen illegitimate controllers available on eBay, and at specific outlet malls. These controllers are often manufactured to appear as an official XBox One controller, but lack specific features that make them officially supported.
These controllers may also unknown use tolerances and build quality.

Once we know that, we can go from there.

    Thanks,

    ~Iwata

I bought 1 through SCUF Gaming, who uses certified Xbox Controllers and modifies them to be better in certain ways, and I got one from Shopper's Drug Mart, a store in Canada.

    Thanks Fxdelity,

I would recommend contacting SCUF for their controller. They make very high-end gear, but as you stated it is specialized for the pro-gamer. A failure of their hardware should be handled under their warranty procedures.

Since the controllers were purchased from separate retailers, I'm going to assume that they are completely unique models.

It sounds like the environment their in might be causing premature failure of some kind. This can be heat, dust, moisture, or any part of the environment that could affect performance.

If you're comfortable with it, you can try to clean the buttons (I've never cleaned triggers, though) with isopropyl alcohol.

NOTE: Ensure that the batteries are not in the controller when you do this, and allow the controller sufficient time to dry before reinstalling batteries.

Use a Q-Tip dipped in the alcohol to go around the edge of the button. Isopropyl Alcohol normally cleans pretty well.

Let me know if this helps,

    Thanks
