Controller's right stick "moving" up by itself

Hi, my controller's right stick is moving up by itself for some reason. For example the camera keeps moving up in Battlefield 4. it also happens in other games like GTA 5 and Rainbow Six Siege. Even when using Microsoft Edge it scrolls up on pages. It is
really annoying. Is there a way to fix this without buying a new controller? Thanks.

My left stick does this. So far I have only noticed it in titanfall, but I don't sit still anyway so it doesn't affect me much.

You will probably need to send it in for repair/replacement if under warranty or simply purchase a new controller. You can try updating the controller and see if it helps but as I stated before it is typically time for repair or replacement.

 

Yep, had this same issue too. Except we ended up having to buy another one. Why is it that I still have NES (Nintendo Entertainment System for you juniors), controllers from the freakin' 80's that still work perfectly and yet we've lost a total of three
Xbox controllers to this annoying scroll or normal use?

 

As others describe, the best suggestion is to replace the controller, either through warranty or trading it in somewhere for credit to buy a brand new controller.
