    Controllers not working anymore on PC


    Accidentaly yanked on my wired Xbox 1 controller while it was wired to my PC, damaging the charging port and the cable. However now I am unable to connect any controller anymore with my PC for some reason, tried 3 different Xbox 1 controllers with several different cables on several ports (other devices still work like keyboard, mouse, headset) but nothing seems to work. My PC doesn't seem to detect the controllers anymore all of a sudden eventho it still charges the controller. Took to the internet but the main fix for this issue seems to be reinstalling the USB drivers. Which I've done several times, even formatted my whole PC to see if that would make it work, but to no avail. I connected the controllers to the Xbox and updated them but still no connection on PC. Any advise on what it could be?

    Turns out that all cables I tried are charging only šŸ˜‘ tried several more and 1 actually worked, I'm so annoyed at myself

    Nope, the one from the controller, all my USB ports work with other devices, just not controllers anymore for some reason

    Yup, šŸ˜… tried everything I could find online, I just don't understand how yanking 1 cable resulted into no controllers working anymore, thanks for the help!

    That is quite strange. I have done more research on the issue and sadly I haven't come across anything that could help. I would have said try to reinstall Windows, but you've already done that. You've also reinstalled the USB drivers as well.
