  1. Controllers not transmitting audio data

This started with my Day One controller and my Turtle Beach x41's (which had to use an audio adapter and a 3.5mm-2.5mm adaptor cable). One day, chat just stopped working. Game audio (which is uses Turtle Beach's transmitter) was fine, but the Xbox no longer
recognized that a mic was attached. Party chat gave no microphone options and defaulted to the Kinect mic and games like Call of Duty no longer had the mic icon. Further more, the mute button on the audio adaptor no longer lit up when you toggled it.

I bought new cables and a new 3.5mm-2.5mm cable adaptor- same result.

I bought a new audio adapter for the controller- same result.

I bought a new Xbox One wireless controller (and updated it while connected via usb cable with the headphones and audio adapter attached)- same result.

I bought the XO One gaming headset. The audio adapter for that lights up, I get low beep tones when I've maxed out the volumes, I get mic playback in the earphones and the mute seems to work- yet nothing goes to or from the Xbox One console. No game audio,
    no mic audio.

Took my controller and XO Ones to a friend's house and tried them out- nothing. Plugged my XO One audio adapter into his controller and it worked! Game audio and mic. So, I figure I must have two defective controllers.

Today, I went to Best Buy and purchased a wired controller- but when I got it home, I realized that the newer controllers only have the 3.5mm jack and not the usb jack with the two prongs. Plugged in the XO Ones, and got game audio just fine. The Xbox seemed
to recognize that a mic was plugged in, but no chat audio was being transmitted. Checked in-game with Black Ops III, which shows a mic transmitting icon when audio is heard. Nothing. Checked my x41's, plugging them directly into he 3.5mm jack with no chat
adapter- same result. Console recognized that a mic was attached, but no chat audio was being transmitted through my mic. (BTW, this new controller did not prompt a software update).

Returned the wired controller and picked up a new standard wireless XBox One controller that has the 3.5mm jack next to the usb jack with the two prongs. Updated it as soon as I turned it on (with the XO One chat adapter and headset connected). Same as my existing
controllers. No audio transmitted either way- so, now I have to take that controller back for a refund.

May just be my console- though, a number of people on another thread believe it was a software update issue, I'm not so sure. A while back, I even tried resetting the console back to the factory condition. Nothing.

    :)

No audio from tv while using vga cable.

    Hi,

The VGA cable is not transmitting any audio just video if it's a xbox vga cable you would have 2 RCA (composit) end which will have the sound.

Official Xbox Wired Microphone not transmitting

    Hi,

I own an official Microsoft Wired Mic (Came with the XBox) and suddenly tonight it's stopped transmitting. I can still recieve audio (hear friends fine) but I cant transmit my voice via party chat, voice message etc. What could be the issue? Ive cleaned
out the ports on my controllers, to no avail. Checked the settings. What do you suggest?

  4. Controllers not transmitting audio data

I am having the same problem. I have tried EVERY suggested fix.

I am returning My XBox to the store (bought by a member of staff).

I have been unable to contact XBOX support as the form does not allow me to add in my 1st or last name (greyed out by Microsoft).

So, Microsoft will have 1 X Box returned with the v. common mic problem!

    Stereo Headsets

There is no stereo headset for the 360 that only connects to the controller.

The 360 controller only provides chat audio, there is no game audio transmitted through the 360 controller.

Does Cable TV show in HD if only plugged to IR Blaster of X1?

Ir blaster is for controlling channel changing, volume, etc....it does not transmit video/audio signals. Think of it as a remote control extender.

Is there a way to get audio through the controller without using Bluetooth for the series X controller on a Samsung TV?

I believe that Xbox controllers only transmit and receive audio through the Xbox wireless signal and not via Bluetooth. If using Bluetooth to connect the controller, you need to use a different method for audio. Wired controllers and controllers connected with the Microsoft wireless dongle can use the headphone jack for audio.

Connecting PC to XBox One through HDMI and controlling the PC through XBox Controller

What the OP is asking is quite simply impossible. HDMI only transmits video and audio. It's possible to control a PC using a controller instead of a mouse (although why would anyone would want to do that is beyond me). But the controller in question would
need to be attached to the PC. And it wouldn't be possible to hack such a feature together for the Xbox, simply because, like I said earlier, HDMI only transmits video and audio.
