Controllers malfunctioning in TitanFall

both of my pads have gone bad. One has severe drift with the right thumb stick and the other has a broken right bumper. Crazy thing is they work fine with some games, but not others. Just so happens that TitanFall and Madden are almost unplayable, and
they're my favorite games. Why are soooo many of my consoles problems game or app specific? Been with Microsoft since playing Halo on Xbox Connect, and getting live when Halo2 dropped, but I'm seriously considering jumping ship. Sooooooooooooooooooooo frustrated
right now.

Controller

I purchased an Xbox one in January. One of the 2 controllers I received is malfunctioning. I was wondering how I cold get it replaced.

It would still be under warranty.

Xbox One Controller Cannot Connect

I've tried all the guidelines and gone through all the usual threads but to no avail. I bought it a few months ago to replace an old one that was malfunctioning but the controllers still can't connect

 

Are they physically broken? Or not imputing when used? I don't even know if this would work, and it may sound stupid, but maybe trying a controller update might work? Just a suggestion. Anyway, you could just get a new controller. Why spend $400, when $60
would solve the issue? It's your decision...

 

I had to update my controller to play Titanfall. It worked but not great, did the update and it was much better to me.

In case you have not looked for the update here is what to do (if you know then disregard):

1. Navigate settings->system->controller update

2. You will need to hook up a micro-usb to usb to your controller and Xbox One.

3. Follow any instructions on screen.

Hopefully that will resolve your problem if they are not physically broken.

 

Thanks for the responses but I tried all that and they're physically broken. I wouldn't be spending 400 since I'd trade in the Xbox1. Gears, Halo, and the fact that I hate the PS game pad have kept me from jumping ship. I borrowed a friends controller but
know I can't play online because the console says I have high packet loss. Everything else works just fine right now.

 

I've had similar issues lately. My drift with the right thumb stick is bad and the rumblers can be felt so much now but only after the recent xbox update.

Whats the warranty on controllers anyway? I was in the market for a new/additional one anyway

 

90 days from date of purchase i believe.

 

Even the initial controller that comes with the system is only covered for 90 days, whereas the console is covered for a year, even though both come in the same package.

 

They tried to make me pay, so I asked them to bring up my history. 4console replacements, 2 power brick replacement, and 2 broken plug and plays. Before I spend anymore money on defective Microsoft equipment I'm switching to PC, Ps4, or Nintendo. I'll miss
Halo, and Gears, but I'll get over it.

 

+1 for the right thumbstick drifting issue. I've only played Titanfall at this point and luckily have a second controller that works just fine. Either the "drifting" controller is defective (sad, really) or there is something with the latest TF patch, preview
dashboard update, or a combination of all of the above.

 

I had that drifting issue as well. There is an setting in the options called "drift guard" or something like that. Turn that option on and it may fix it for you.
