Controllers joystick disease

Hi,

Since day one I'm having issues with the controllers' joystick functionality.

I thought to myself, probably a bad one I'll buy a new controller ... the new controller had the same issues so I thought I'll buy another one.

Guess what?! All three controllers have the same issues with the joysticks.

The best example trying to describe the problem is playing FIFA 15/16 - Start playing by moving the player and then suddenly it keeps running to the same direction although you moved the joystick to the opposite direction. FIFA it's a game where you always
need to keep moving the player to many directions and this is where you feel the problem with XBOX One controllers.

I contact your support and they where very nice! They even replaced all of my controllers - But unfortunately it didn't help that much.

After the issues reoccurred the support ask me to clean and restart the console and to do an offline update.

Nothing really helped.

Now, I have only one controller functioning Ok. The other I cannot use since I lose the fun of playing.

I have couple of options :

- Buy a new one and then I might get lucky - In the worst case I can replace it.

- I can try fix it myself.. for example like this guy: [mod removed]

This is really sucks since I put a lot of effort trying to make it work...

I really cannot tell how many players out there having the same problems - I found couple of references like this one: [mod removed]

I don't know if you can help me with that, I really hope so.

Faulty controller-joystick sticks

I have had my 2 Xbox One controllers for about a year. Both have become unusable. The left side joystick sticks and causes character wandering and making it impossible to make onscreen selections. Are these controllers only supposed to last one year?
Is there a recall for these?

Just FYI, I still have the original Playstation, which has joysticks on the controllers, and have never had this issue.

 

I have the same problem! Have played 360 and mostly NHL and haven't had any problem with the controllers. But now with 6 month with Xbox One I have had 4 controllers with the same problem that you describe! After almost 3 years with Xbox One on the market
Microsoft need to do something. Time to release a complete new version of the controller - or many will change to PS4! :-/

 

I'm sick of returning them so think I will try this one with epoxy or the one that you suggested.

I tried the video I mentioned, yesterday. Well I don't think it helped in my case since I think it's some other joystick fault.

@first I thought I'm the only one having that issue... maybe it's in my head?! - I'll go to the head doctor

Something very very strange is going on here, and I suspect that this was all planned !

Xbox One controller analog drift is happening to lots and lots of us, most problems aren't reported because the users just dumps the controller and buys a new one.

Now to fix this analog drift that suspiciously keeps happening to all models of controllers, you can purchase a ' Joystick Axis Analog Sensor Module Replacement ' from Ebay ( Hong Kong ) .. so as you can see there are more after sales.

If you think this is a mistake in design, think again, this is a disgraceful attempt to make more money from customers after they have already purchased their console and controllers.

This is exactly what I tried to explain to Microsoft support manager I was chatting with, the other day.

She told me: IF they had such defect that massive amount of users experience, Microsoft would deferentially take an action.

I think that everybody is happy about the warranty time and replace all the defect controllers. The second time they bumping into the same issue. They go ahead and buy a new one.

The big problem (as you said) is that nobody insist about the fact that it's a defect in the joystick hardware.

Eventually Microsoft does not realize that next time we all will get a PS and leave them.

If this thread will grow - Microsoft might pay attention and do something.

IT worked for me!

Again, if you have the skills, go to the following site. Buy the joystick components. It's easy to disassemble, unplug the old joystick and put the new back in.

My controller is as good as new for only 2$~
