Controllers freezing/crashing on Xbox One X

Hi,

I've been having a frustrating problem with multiple controllers on my Xbox One X... where my controllers freeze (light still on) and upon hard powering the controller off or removing and replacing batteries, the problem persists... the controllers work
when wired though... and I've replaced my first Xbox One X for the same issue.

Does anyone have the same issue or can anyone advise on a solution or fix?

Are you on an Xbox One X, by chance? There were some known issues in Metro Exodus with crashing and freezing on the Xbox One X, sadly. Hopefully these issues will be getting patched very soon.

The game is actually freezing and crashing hard, and that since the last patch.....it really annoys me, NO

it's pissing me really off.

I can't play normal on a Xbox Series X without a crash or a freezing Game. Playing with Xbox Series X controller, 4K HDR 60FPS , cross play enabled (without crossplay the Xbox found no Matches )

The Game crashes 10 min into play, either when in a match or in menu.

I have conducted following troubleshooting steps: Reset the game, reinstalled the game, reset the console completly, reset the console, removed everything and nstalled BF2042 again....

Thank you for your reply, however it's happening on multiple controllers and this is my second Xbox One X that's having this issue... Controllers work fine on first gen Xbox One

Thanks for reaching out to Xbox forums support.

I saw that you mentioned that the controllers work fine when wired.

Is there any chance of some type wireless interference in your room or that part of your home that might be affecting the controllers?

(ex: wireless home telephone, blue tooth equipment)

Have you tried moving the Xbox to another part of your home to see if the controller problem persists?

Also, I would suggest trying a friend / or neighbor's Xbox controller to see if the problem continues with their controllers as well.

Is the issue that is being experienced having to do with the Xbox One wireless controller not turning off when removing/replacing the batteries, or that you also cannot use the controller even though it is turned on indicated by the light of the logo?

Our suggestion here, please attempt to follow our troubleshoot your Xbox One wireless controller support article
for troubleshooting steps for the controller.

Try this and let us know if this works.
