Controllers disconnecting, please help.

Hi, I've been having this issue since about Christmas time. I have been through all the trouble shooting and still get random and often (every couple of minutes at times) disconnects. I have a day one Xbox One with the controller and cable it came with and
a 2 month old Elite controller and the cable that came with that. I get the disconnects with either controller playing any game, please help because at the moment I have an expensive black brick sat under my TV.

Hello, I'm very sorry to hear about this issue.

I have a couple suggestions to try an fix the issue.

Try doing a manual re-sync, from the articles I read it seems to be pretty effective

Try getting a little closer to the console, the connection between the controller and console is about 19 feet.

If these don't work, I will happily do some more research.

I've tried a re-sync on both controllers and I'm no more than 6 feet from the console but still get these random disconnects. Yesterday I managed to play for Forza 6 for about 30 minutes with no issues then the disconnects came thick and fast, every 30 seconds
or so, I got fed up and turned it off.

This has to be an issue with the console, could it be something to do with the last update?? I didn't have any issues before so wonder if it's due to that or if it's just coincidence.

 

I have been having the same problem for over a month. I Think it was right after the Feb. Update I have had it for 3 years and no problems but now its basically every day and every once in a while it will work for a day no problems. Very frustrating they
need to fix this. Nothing I have done has worked.

 

I think you're on to something with the February update. When I got my Elite controller (middle of January) it worked fine for a few weeks then I started having the issues. Wonder if anybody from Microsoft will read this and look in to it.

I realise in my first post I said it was around Christmas time I started having problems but thinking about it now it can't have been as I didn't have my elite controller then. Having 2 young kids messes with your perception of time lol.

 

It also happens to me i cant play a single game without it disconnecting. i use a USB cable to play and it stops, but there has to be a way to fix this so i can play without using a USB cable.

 

yeah I tried wireless(doesn't work at all just blink) I have tried hooking wireless controller with USB and then bought a wired controller. they will work like today I had no problems, but yesterday it was a disconnecting nightmare. its frustrating me to
the point I just thought about trading it in towards a new one lol but I'm just hoping it will start working after a random update sometime soon

 

it probably has something to do with the update since it only started recently. where is xbox support when you need them

 

My story is similar. After the last update, my controller just started drifting, disconnecting, or my character would just spin in place. Did ALL of the troubleshooting and even bought a brand new controller. Same issue.

This has to be something in the last update that has *** something up. I will be going to a Microsoft store to get some answers.

I had problems with my controller disconnecting in Feb. It was so bad, I ended up having it repaired by Microsoft. When it returned it worked fine... Until this evening...

I used it yesterday and it was fine. I put this Xbox on this evening and the controller wouldn't connect. I've tired the batteries, hard reset, checking for updates (none available), syncing and a different controller- the controller(s) still just blink
before turning off. I don't want to have to return it again for another 'repair' when I've only had it back for just over a month.

I've looked at numerous guides and they've all been of no help. I'm not sure what to do anymore.

 

Im having this same issue. Is microsoft seriously ignoring this? I am also having the issue with my thrustmaster steering wheel. Coincidentally my cousin who plays 20ft to my right is having the same issue. This is a problem with the xbox one. There are
multiple posts about this issue but no answers. Im so glad i buy most of my games on ps4 because thos system has sooo many problems.

 

I followed the trouble shooting on Microsofts web pages and they say to start a thread there and someone will be in touch to help. Clearly a lie as there are several of us here having the same issues and nobody from Microsoft is coming to help.

I actually managed a couple of hours of trouble free gaming last week, then last night I couldn't play for more than 5 minutes at a time without my controller disconnecting.

Due to this issue I can't play online anymore. I wonder if Microsoft would care if I cancelled my gold subscription, or even if they would care if I just went to the dark side and bought a PlayStation?
