    Controller won't update


    My wife and I just bought Xbox ones, and we are trying to update our controllers to see if it helps with the crackling in our headsets. The controller is connected via usb but the Xbox says nothing is connected. Tried all ports both systems and the 10 second
    power clean reboot? Any help/ideas?

    Xbox One Controller not being recognized

    I can't update the controller, as I stated in the question the problem is the controller won't connect so I can't get to the update page

    Thanks for your help, there are no error codes as the box where it says to update is greyed out. It's a wired controller with a 3.5mm audio input, i have tried with and without headset connected but that does nothing either.
    I have the exact same thing, any fix?

    One other thing to try is, while the console is completely off, connect the controller via uSB plug/play charge cable and turn the console on. It may report an update is required, so allow the update to complete.

    Otherwise run the update from System>Settings>>Accessories again.

    If you use an adapter try updating with and without the adapter connected.

    Hard testart you're consoles if not i know its probably something you dont wanna do but Reset you're xbox
    I've done both and it still doesn't work.
