    Controller won't update.


    I just purchased a new Xbox one stereo headset and am required to update my controller. Each time I attempt to do so the controller powers off and after a few seconds I receive an error message stating an inability to connect and suggesting I check my cables
    to make sure they are fully plugged in. I have followed the suggested protocol and have tried the original USB cord I got with my controller as well as the one provided with the headset. I've done a hard reset of my Xbox one as well as the controller itself
    a number of times. I've also attempted to update the controller without the adapter or headphones, with the adapter but no headphones, and with both plugged in. I've tried from the home screen and through the settings menu, and I even tried with the batteries
    in. The only difference being the controller doesn't power off, but it isn't recognized by the xboxone until I unplug and replug the USB cord in. Thank you.

    I can't update the controller, as I stated in the question the problem is the controller won't connect so I can't get to the update page

    Thanks for your help, there are no error codes as the box where it says to update is greyed out. It's a wired controller with a 3.5mm audio input, i have tried with and without headset connected but that does nothing either.
    I have the exact same thing, any fix?

    One other thing to try is, while the console is completely off, connect the controller via uSB plug/play charge cable and turn the console on. It may report an update is required, so allow the update to complete.

    Otherwise run the update from System>Settings>>Accessories again.

    If you use an adapter try updating with and without the adapter connected.

    Hard testart you're consoles if not i know its probably something you dont wanna do but Reset you're xbox
