    Controller won't update, batteries low (not true)


    This morning all my controllers are not working. With new batteries, I power on the xbox with the controller. Xbox turns on, controller works for 10 seconds then shuts off (same pattern occurs on all 4 of my controllers with new batteries). Connected directly
    with USB, all controllers work however, when I to go settings, accessories, and attempt to update the controller firmware I get a screen that reports my batteries are critically low, and to replace them before continuing/starting the firmware update. They
    are new batteries! New from packaging, and also verified all are new with a volt meter. How do I get the firmware updated (I only have Mac PCs), and will this resolve the wireless connection issue?

    none of these resolve the issue. Also tried the complete system shutdown with no success. The fact that this ocurred on both of my xbox systems, for all 8 controllers, tells me this is a MS bug that was introduced overnight. All controllers and both
    systems worked perfectly last night.

    Unfortunately not helpful. 1. the xbox does not allow me to update due to the false
    message about the batteries being critically low...this is with USB directly connected as the instructions state. 2. no windows 10 pc in our household.

    Check your battery level. If they're low, the controller won't vibrate.
