    Controller Won't Turn On


    I recently bought a new headset and when I go to update my controller for it, the update does not work or loads to 7% and fails. Then my controller shuts off and will not turn back on. This has happened with two of my controllers... I have tried hard restarting
    my Xbox, switching the USB cable, changing the batteries... Nothing works. Is there a secret that someone can let me in on to fix this?

    Controller won't turn on

    my Xbox one controller will not turn on. I logged on and my Xbox said that the controller needed an update, so I plugged it into the USB on the Xbox and now it won't turn on. This is now the second time this has happened to me. Help please

    Xbox controller won't turn on

    So I just got a brand new Xbox headset and I logged onto my xbox one and it said it wanted to update my controller. I plugged it in with a usb cable and it started updating. A second layer it said something went wrong and my controller might be unresponsive
    for a few moments. It's now been 10 minutes and it won't turn on...... HELP!!!

    Hey there Darrell Williams7,

    Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to deal with this issue. I can totally understand how this could drive anyone a little nuts. The thing is, if the steps

    outlined here     did not do the trick and your controller is not eligible for a
    warranty replacement,     you would more than likely have to replace it yourself.

    Controller won't turn off with rest of system.

    I'm having the same problem except I never installed any PC drivers. Another issue is that the console won't turn on in response to the controller. I'll turn on the controller but the console won't come on. It'll turn on with voice command or from the console
    itself.
