Controller won't turn itself or console off

Discus and support Controller won't turn itself or console off in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; When I hold down the Xbox home button, it give me the vibration but no longer the option to turn the controller or the console off.     Controller won't turn itself or console off


    When I hold down the Xbox home button, it give me the vibration but no longer the option to turn the controller or the console off. Any suggestions?

    Controller won't turn off with rest of system.

    I'm having the same problem except I never installed any PC drivers. Another issue is that the console won't turn on in response to the controller. I'll turn on the controller but the console won't come on. It'll turn on with voice command or from the console
    itself.

    controller turns itself off.

    Sorry to hear it. This could be an issue caused either by the console or controller(s). How old are the controllers? Would you have access to some newer controllers to try to rule out the possibility of it being the ones you have?

    Sorry to hear it. Can you please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down to see if that fixes the issue? It may simply be a cache issue.

    Unfortunately that didn't work. Didn't know you could shut your controller down that way. So there's something. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks for posting back. Please try that again but this time unplug the console and let it sit for 10 minutes to see if that changes anything.

    I bought the Limited Edition Console and didn't get a wireless headset with it and it doesn't play the MW3 Sounds

    I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to come with the wireless headset, just a regular one. It should play MW3 sounds for disc eject and for turning it on/off but only if you use the buttons on the console itself (ei if you turn it on with the controller it
    won't make the sounds).

    I had this issue too. I fixed it in the following way:

    - Turn off your Xbox by pressing the power button on the console itself (white Xbox logo).

    - Wait for all the lights to turn off on every device (Kinect, controller and the console itself).

    - Power on your console by pressing the white Xbox logo on the controller itself, not the console.

    Everything worked as intended after that.

    Sadly has no way to configure this in the controller that prevents it from turning off itself or extending the time it can stay on. A workaround is to buy a wireless headset and use it with the console, then you won't need the controller.
