Controller won’t sync properly

Hey all,

Since yesterday my Xbox controller can’t stay synched. When I push the icon on the controller, the controller and console will start, but the controller won’t connect to the console (light starts flashing rapidly on controller). When I push the synch button
on the console they will synch and the controller works perfectly. But when I turn the console off and turn it back on I’ll have to do these same steps again. I tried factory reset on my console, also I updated my controller and console. Using usb works as
well, but isn’t solving the problem. Please help.

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to deal with this issue. I can totally understand how inconvenient this kind of thing could be. I believe that if the steps put forth by @XBF
Leo G did not resolve the situation, you might have some kind of hardware problem with your controller. In that instance, I suggest using it wired or getting the controller replaced. If the controller is in warranty, visit

this page for a replacement by Xbox.

I’ve tried this along with changing the batteries. In the controller itself. The controller lights up and flashes but won’t sync when I press the sync button.
