Controller won't stay on or power up unless plugged in.

I've searched for a while for a fix for this but have found nothing that works. Maybe someone here can help me.

Here is the situation: I am changing controllers because my main controller has developed stick drift. My second controller is one I have had for probably 2 years. I bought it in case someone came over to play. It hasn't been used much and it's always stayed
in a drawer. The controller won't stay on unless plugged in. The second I unplug it it powers off and won't turn back on. It also won't sync when it is plugged in( xbox button doesn't flash when I press sync). I have rechargeable battery packs for both of
the controllers and neither one makes a difference. The controller is updated to the latest version. I have tried a hard reset multiple times and nothing changes. When it's plugged in it works fine and it says it's charging. If you can help please post here.
I'd rather not have to buy a brand new controller if I can get this one to work.

My Xbox One controller.

My Xbox One controller won't come on. I've changed the batteries. I've plugged it up with a micro usb and reset and power cycled my Xbox. What it's doing is the xbox button won't even light up or anything. Please help.

Xbox one will not power with updated controller with MS Stereo headset plugged in

Xbox one will not power with updated controller with MS Stereo headset plugged in. Once I disconnect MS Stereo headset and adapter it powers on syncs just fine. Then I plug in the headset and adapter everything works. But if i power off controller or xbox
one it won't sync with the headset and adapter plugged in. Ive updated controller. It works fine with old chat headset. It works fine plugged in usb.

It sounds like a faulty controller and will probably need replacing.

Oh well. I was hoping someone had an idea of how to fix it. Something I did a few months ago fixed this problem. I plugged it into my pc, updated the firmware (I think) and played some games. I already tried plugging it in and playing games but it didn't
do anything. I guess I'll be waiting for a sale on controllers then.

It sounds like a faulty controller and will probably need replacing.

It looks like the issue is with your controller's battery. Try to connect your controller using a USB cable and check for a controller updates.

If it's already up-to-date, I am afraid that it's a battery issue and you may need a controller replacement.

If your controller is fully updated but still won´t power on without a cable then it sadly needs to be replaced or serviced.

Or you can still use it if you do not mind using a cable

UNPLUG POWER to CONSOLE and wait 2 mins, now plug a MICRO USB cable into controller and into console, now plug power back in , turn on and see if controller stays on with it plugged into console with MICRO USB. Also try to change batteries and test
