controller wont stay connected

first off I am using hdmi and my console is connected to my modem (not sure if that matters tho) my controller will turn on my xbox, but disconnects randomly it gets really annoying while im playing modern warfare 3. now it disconnects before I can even
put in the disc, the lights on my controller all flash at the same time but the lights on the outer ring of my console stay on as if its still connected. can anyone plz help me

I am not impressed by the great graphics, game play, or even the stories. I can't be impressed, because, I am shocked when I can stay connected to Xbox, Bungie, and EA game servers. Xbox added 300 thousand servers and I pay 10 dollars more per year. So
I can get disconnected all the time? I don't get. Technology is supposed to be getting better, not worse, right?

 

now it wont connect at all I had the thing for only 8 or 9 months and I don't know *** the warranty thing works can someone plz help?

I assume that after turning on the controller that it's loosing power.?

If correct,, and you're using standard battery pack NOT the rechargable packs. Remove the batteries and with a paper clip gently reach down into the battery compartment and lift up the metal tabs a bit.

Often what I found was that the tabs located at the bottom of the pack would get bent flat after countless battery changes to cause the battery to loose connection.

So gently bend them back up a tad, replace the batteries, and see if that helps.

Note to the Powers that be: The above I consider NOT a repair but rather general run of the mill maintanance, for with repeated use those tabs will get bent eventually. And it's not economically viable to replace an entire controller just because of a bent
tab.

ok I tried it and it didn't work, I even used a different pack in case I did it wrong. I don't think anythings wrong with the controller itself. like I said before it works fine on my brothers console.
