Controller won't recognize my headset

Hi so I just got my Xbox game lab controller delivered because my old controller broke. I plugged in my headset and it worked perfectly but then I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it didn't work I tried plugging in multiple different devices but
none of them worked, so it has to be the controller. I tried putting in new batteries, turning the controller off, all that stuff. If anyone else has had this problem, or fixed it, please tell me!

Problem with Stereo headset

I bought the Xbox One stereo headset today, and after a frustrating day of trying to make it work properly, with xbox live down and all, anyway, I've tried to make the headset work with my Cod AW controller and it won't work, the controller recognizes
the adaptor but it does not produce any sound out of the headphones, the headset works with my other 3 controllers, what is causing this issue, the headset or the controller? all the controllers are fully upgraded.

 

Xbox Bluetooth Headset won't connect to my cell phone

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. The headset works with my ipad 3 and xbox, however it the headset won't connect to the phone. It doesn't even recognize it.

Thanks for reaching out to us!

1) Have you made sure to perform the most recent system update?

2) Additionally, have you updated the controller, itself? Update Xbox One Controller
can guide you through that!

3) If you have done both of those things and are STILL experiencing issues, I recommend trying a different headset in the controller, just as another troubleshooting step. Headset are finicky and fragile, and thus susceptible to damage.

^If you do ALL of those things and are still having problems, let me know and we'll go to the next step

hi what is next step if both of the above are not working? we also have similar issue - brand new turtle beach headset for xbox one and the controller does not recognize it

Is the controller a genuine Microsoft controller?

Have you tried the headset in a different controller?

Are you using an adapter, or plugging directly into the 3.5mm jack?

Also, which headset is it? Model number would be best..

Say it is a compatible headset, you have already completed the steps above (including the page from the support site) AND you tested the headset on a different controller and it works... Then the issue is in the controller. The controller may be damaged/defective.
If, in this current example, the headset works in no controllers- then we need address your audio settings in the system settings themselves.. Here's a reference page: Set up and troubleshoot your Xbox One Stereo Headset
