Controller wont pair

I’ve tried everything but my controller wont connect to my xbox one wireless or with wire. I press the sync button but it donsnt pair. Ive gotten a brand new cord and brand new batteries but it doesn’t work. Ive also updated the controller. It used to work with usb but now it wont at all. I can’t buy another controller.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Xbox controller. As part of our initial troubleshooting, please power cycle your controller: Press and hold the Xbox button for 5-10 seconds until the controller turns off. Wait a few seconds, and then press and hold the Xbox button again to turn the controller back on.

You mentioned that you updated your controller, were you able to do this prior the issue? To further isolate your issue, is there a chance that you can connect your controller to other console or Windows PC? By doing this, we can confirm if your controller is already defective.

You shared as well that you tried different USB cable, kindly make sure that the USB cable supports data transfers. Please note that some cables can only provide power for charging.

When I used my keyboard earlier, i finished the update, tried the controller, still didnt pair.

i then did a factory reset of my xbox, tried again, the xbox controller still wouldnt pair

still wont pair now

Any progress on this at all? I have the same setup (SP4, Arctic Forces Bluetooth controller).

I bought the controller in June and it paired, and worked fine for a few days.. got back home from my trip and a week later tried to use it but controller did not pair.

Now I can go through the add BT wizard and the controller does not show at all, it pairs fine to my Android phone and works perfectly but nothing on Windows 10.

In my Device Manager, under Bluetooth devices I actually have "Xbox Wireless controller" listed, but the controller still wont pair and wont show in the Bluetooth devices window!

You might want to pair your your controller with the xbox aswell.

There is a small button under the xbox logo in the front of console and on the controller itself. Press and hold them until the lights starts flickering.

Should pair your controller with xbox. Then you wont need to use the cable everytime.

Just got my controller, it wont even pair to a windows desktop I seriously doubt it will work on anything else.
