controller will not turn on with mic connected

When destiny came out i finally took my chat headset out of its packaging where it has been sitting since January when i got the x1. It worked for 2 weeks until yesterday when i plugged it in my controller and it immediately turned off my controller and
wouldn't allow it to turn on. First thing i did was replace the batteries with no luck. I tried a direct connection to the console with a micro usb and the batteries removed and it will not turn on with the mic connected. I updated the controller without
the mic connected because it will not connect at all with it plugged in and still no luck. I have no friends with another controller or mic to test with and from a quick google search its happened to other people too. I know there is a 90 day on accessories
and microsoft wont fix it but i really have a hard time believing that after a 2 week binge of destiny the mic is dead. Do the x1 controllers go bad on the mic port? Otherwise the controller works just fine.

Controller random disconnects and mic problems

A few days ago the Xbox one controller seems to be having problems. The controller will lag for some period of time til it disconnects, when using the mic, after I turn it back on will still act as if the mic is not connected. Simply unplugging the mic will
not work. Usually I have to unplug the mic, go to the dashboard, hold the home button on the controller to turn it off, turn it back on and plug the mic back in. Sometimes that doesn't even work. I've seen on the forums that a few people are having this problem
as well. This problem is extremely annoying and frustrating.

 

Controller immediately shuts off after inserting mic

The controller has worked fine as long as ive had it. Recently though, every time i plug in the regular Xbox one mic, or the stereo adapter, my controller just shuts off instantly and wont turn back on until the mic/adapter is taken out. This happens with
all different batteries, as well as connected via usb. Is there a current workaround for this?

 

This began to occur after the September update?

 

Im not 100 percent on that ive never used them since a 2 weeks ago. its just seems it must be a hardware issue more than a firmware issue if it just randomly stopped and boots just fine without the mic attached as if the controller detects a fault with the
device and doesn't want to boot up. Id hate to go buy a new mic and that not fix the issue only to go get a new controller and that not work either like some other people online have done and with no success.

 

same problem. even tried re-calibrating the controller but i cant do it with mic plugged in because the controller wont turn on. not sure if its the controller or the mic but im super confused.

 

I'm having the same problem. Started last night in the middle of playing Advanced Warfare. Anyone find a fix yet? I've updated the firmware as the op said he did. Couldn't do it with the chat headset attached since it powers off even when connected via USB.
