Controller will not reconnect to the Xbox One when it has been idle or unplugged

After the september update and more so recently, when the controller disconnects through being Away from controller or when unplugged from the play and charge kit, it will not reconnect to the xbox one. The controller turns on, but does not feed any power
to my turtlebeach X07 headset or to the buttons or sticks on the controller. I hace tried a second controller with and without the headset plugged in but it does the exact same thing in the same circumstances. Each time this happens i have to do a power cycle
by holding down the power button on the console to turn everything else off. I am not sure if this is on all games as I have only had the issue on Forza Horizon 2 but no one else has had this happen to them. This issue has only started in this last 5 days
and i have tried to troubleshoot this myself but it seems to be a unique issue. I really don't want to do a factory rest as i have many games, apps and DLC's installed on the hard drive. I really hope this is just down to a small solvable incident and i don't
have to factory reset as this will take up many, many hours of gaming.

Controller connected but won't work?!?!?!?

my controller works fine until it disconnects, be it i disconnected it or it stayed idle for 15 minutes, after that i hold the xbox button and the controller shows its connected, however no buttons work, not even if another controller was connected, the
Kinect works fine however to reconnect the controller i have to power-cycle the console every-time.

 

Wireless disconnects when adding new USB storage

Hi All,

When plugging in a mass storage device such as a 1 Tb SSD to any of the USB slots on the XBOX One, the wireless signal disconnects, and only reconnects after about 5 mins when the storage has been unplugged/removed.

Edit: after speaking with friends we all seem to have this issue and isn't down to hardware. We all have different controller updates as well so it isn't that so it seems to be something in the September update that is causing the problem

 

I am having this problem as well. It seems anytime the controller is turned off, it unpairs with the console, and the only way to get it to respond again is a hard reset. Plugging it in as a wired controller won't work either. My brother told me he's having
the same issue. We didn't have this problem until we played Forza Horizon 2.

 

Its seems Forza Horizon 2 definitely has something to do with the issue, it happened to me as well, only after i played Forza Horizon 2(digital), perhaps connecting the controller via USB without the batteries will stop it from auto-off temporarily.

 

Same problem as mudbiscuit and KSAnnihilation, My controller disconnects during forza horizon 2 and wont reconnect until i power cycle the console

 

I don't quite understand how this would be an issue involving Forza Horizon 2, as I have the game on disc and have been experiencing this problem for a week or so. Perhaps it does have some sort of link, but it just seems weird.

The only way I can fix this is to hard-reboot my console by holding the power button for around ten seconds. I hope a more convenient resolution is found soon.

 

I'm having the exact same issue. Controller will disconnect and then won't be able to reconnect. It only started after I started playing horizon 2.

 

i am having the exact same issue and has also started since playing FH2 its driving me nuts if i turn my controller off or the controller turns off through inactivity the controller plays up i turn control back on and no response from any buttons i go onto
the kinect i try every method of reconnecting and re syncing the controller and it doesnt work i also do it with my other controller and that 2 doesnt work when i look on the connect after this happens the kinect doesnt seem to pick up ther controller once
i hard reset the console go back onto the kinect it shows controller i havent tried this with other games but it does seem coinsidental that it has been happening to numerous people since forza came out please olease please someone find some answers

 

i have the same exact problem. happens on Destiny as well for me not just Forza horizon 2. Would love to get a fix for this. starting to drive me nuts

 

This started happening for me yesterday, playing lords of the fallen. Happens all the time now. If I try and re sync the controller, (even though it says it is synced) kinect starts "unplugging" and turning on/off.

Hard reset help temporarily, but I lose whatever I'm playing. Very annoying.
