    Controller will not connect and is not recognized by PC


    Hello, I recently upgraded my computer a bit, nothing major, and tried to play Rocket League with my controller wired in. I have always been able to play with my controller connected, yet now, when I plug it in to a USB 2 or 3 port, it simply rumbles once,
    then doesn't turn on. I have tried connecting via Bluetooth, but my PC cannot discover it. I have fully updated the controller. I have a console as well, if that helps at all.

    Have you by any chance attempted to connect the controller directly to the PC through a wired connection?

    As well, you have mentioned that the controller that came with the Xbox One console is recognized on the PC, but that the elite controller is not recognized at all on the PC. This same elite controller, does it have any issues with connecting to the Xbox
    One console?

    Could be a few problems.

    Connection issue with the cable itself.

    Or the PC not fully recognizing the controller.

    If the controller works on the console fully, then it is not the controller.

    One thing that could be done also is to try to use a wireless adapter on your PC to see if it does recognize your controller when connected to your PC. But since your PC has bluetooth built in, it should've been recognized without it.

    Is the controller a wireless controller or wired? If it is wireless, how are you connecting it? If by using the play & charge kit, then the Xbox 360 controller will not work, as the cable is only recognized on PC for charging only. You need to use a Xbox
    360 Wireless adapter for PC to connect a wireless Xbox 360 controller to your PC.

    Problem Adaptator xbox one for pc

    On your Windows 10 PC, I would recommend opening Device Manager and check that the adapter is being recognized properly on the PC and there are no issues listed with that device.

    I would also recommend trying to connect the controller up via a USB cable and see if the controller is recognized that way.

    And before that, I would ask that this is a Xbox One controller, or is this an Xbox 360 controller that you're trying to use?
