    Controller warranty replacement


    I bought an xbox controller in April 2020 and the controller has not been functioning normal in game and always makes the characters look up without doing anything. I have followed all the steps to rest the controller as advised and it still did not resolve
    the problem. I then was informed I was eligible for replacement. I then was redirected to the controller replacement page and I tried to fill it out, It asks for the serial number which sits below the barcode behind the battery and is a 14 digit number, this
    is fine I put that in, and then at the bottom it ask for another number in the format of 10 digits then 6 digits XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXX

    This is the exact wording below

    Please look for the number on the controller in this format XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXX (10 digits - 6 digits).This is located behind the battery compartment above the controller serial number.

    I have tried this so many times but it says it does not recognise the number.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    If I recall correctly replacement controllers doesn't have warranty.
    You can try requesting a replacement here:

    If a warranty is available you should be able to start the process

    If your controller was still in warranty this could get replaced. However as it would now be out of warranty your only option would be purchasing a new controller as replacement grips are not available

    Microsoft do not repair controllers. They replace them if they are in warranty. If it it out of warranty they will charge you for a new controller
