Discus and support Controller vibration works. But won't activate. in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have a new Xbox controller.     Controller vibration works. But won't activate.


    I have a new Xbox controller. Vibration settings are on, however on screen prompts dont make it vibrate.

    I tried going into Xbox Accessory settings and clicking Buzz, but that does not make it vibrate.

    There are no available updates.

    I have cycled my xbox twice, this is the only controller with this issue.

    However when i use my play and charge kit, that causes the controller to vibrate upon connection like normal. Am i missing something? Or is my controller faulty?

    I don't think you're missing something. This is on your console, so it's not a driver/connection issue to the computer, you've power cycled, and this is the only one having a problem. Sounds like you've done everything you should.

    What's weird is that you say that it works when you plug it in. Does it vibrate during games, or just and only when you plug it in? I would do a couple things. Download the Xbox Insiders app, register to be an insider, then run through the tests again
    and report the issue to the team so they can take a closer look.

    It might also be worth trying to hook it up to a Windows 10 PC via Bluetooth or USB, downloading the Xbox Accessories app on the Windows 10 store, and testing if it vibrates that way? It would at the very least give more data points on where the error might
    be.

    After that, I might take a look at what options you have at
    devicesupport.microsoft.com     for repair/replacement o the controller, which would be under "Accessories" for an Xbox One console (it can be hard to find on the site that way, since it's not it's own listing.)

    Sorry to hear about your issue. Similar reports of the same issue were resolved by the following:

    Power cycle the Xbox. Make sure you are turning it off and unplugging it for at least 10 seconds. Replace the battery. Re-sync the controller.

    If this doesn't help, it may be a faulty battery or controller.

    Hello Foregone,

    Would you happen to be inquiring about controller vibration occurring at random as in when it should not be vibrating?

    If so, test this same controller on either another console, or use a different controller on this same console to further investigate this.

    If anything, clarify is this is about random vibrating which allow us to actively work in resolving this case.

    Ok cool, so there is potenitially an app to customize the controller settings.

    This still doesn't explain why the controller won't vibrate when used wirelessly. I know for certain the xbox 360 receiver works perfectly, and that a wired xbox one controller does too. So does it not make sense that we have a real issue with vibration
    on a wireless xbone controller?

    Can somebody else have the issue I have? Can anybody else confirm a broken vibration feature?
