Discus and support Controller update problems in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Okay so I bought the new headset adapter and tried updating my controller.     Controller update problems


    Okay so I bought the new headset adapter and tried updating my controller. It gets to about 20% and then goes back to 0% then loads to about 20-25% and then says update failed. I have tried battery removal, making sure the connections are good, new
    cables, and power cycling all to no avail. I am at a loss here. Any ideas?

    Oh and the headset I'm using is an astro a-50 wireless. And yes it was plugged into the adapter at time of attempted updates. And it is day one edition controller

    Hi

    Can you please try using a few alternate USB cables as not all of them are fully wired some of them only wire the the terminals that covers charging.

    Hey Star!

    If you have any micro USB cable (many smart phones use them) hanging around, you can use that on your controller. Plug it into the top of your controller and then into your console (the side USB port is often the easiest!) and then hopefully your controller
    updates properly.

    Controller update problems

    I think it a bad controller. Have you tired other controllers? But you haved and it work. Call phone support. The number in the US and Canada is 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

    March Update messed up my controller and astro A50 Headset.

    Controller updated along with my other controllers. Still have problem! Used all other controllers. The problem did not start until this march update. Everything was fine before.

    Remove Accessories
    Sometimes Xbox One accessories, attached either to the controller or console, can introduce connection issues. If you have an external hard drive, keyboard, or similar connected to your Xbox, try disconnecting it and trying again. Do
    the same for the Stereo Headset Adapter on your controller if you have it.

    If you’re trying to sync your controller using a micro-USB cable, make sure you’re using a high-quality one. Poorly made or frayed/damaged cables may not work correctly.
