Controller update issues

Hi all,

I'm having an issue with my Xbox One. I bought it about a year ago with two controllers. Soon after I bought it it asked me to do an update on the controller I was using as well as a system update. I completed this and had no issues for a year as I only
ever used the one controller. About two months ago my usual controller's battery was dead so I switched to the other one. Again this asked me to do an update on the controller and this is when I started having issues.

When I use the controllers now on the GUI I have to keep mashing the A button constantly for about 2 minutes for me to be able to actually open an app, game or option in the menus. I have tried multiple factory resets on the console and this does solve the
issue but only for about two hours before it starts happening again. When playing games it also has the effect of the camera constantly rotating even when I'm not touching the right stick which makes the games unplayable.

I sent the console back to Microsoft for repair as it was still in warranty, but they sent it back saying they couldn't find any issues with it.

Has anyone else ever encout this issue and know how to resolve it?

No sound chat headset

Updated controller? In Settings > Devices > Controller there's an update for chat issues.

Controller update issues

I'm updating my my Xbox controller and it says updating controller 100% and it's been like that for more than an hour. I've tried a cold reset or cold start whatever it's c a l l e d and the same thing keeps happening it will just go to 100% then nothing
for ages help me please please please

Thats very weird my friend. It sounds like you might just have a faulty controller. Have you tried to get them to just replace the controller for you bud?

Try this:

Power cycle your console- by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds.

Restart

Plug in your usb able to the console

Remove the batteries from the controller

Plug the usb into the controller

Go to settings>System>console info

And do the update this way. (Sometimes you have to press A to get prompted for the update)

Mada95128. I spent the majority of the afternoon today on the phone to Xbox and it turns out that the adapter is faulty. I've taken mine back and got a replacement and I suggest you do the same.

Just a small word of advice though. Please don't expect your new adapter to work properly either. The new one now allows me to update the controller but the mic and the 2 buttons on the left don't work. Me thinks that Microsoft needs to review this item
sharpish.
